BetAmerica launches sportsbook in Michigan and Colorado

Churchill Downs Incorporated has launched its BetAmerica sportsbook in two states.

Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) has launched its BetAmerica-branded land-based sportsbook in Colorado and Michigan.

In addition to launching land-based sportsbooks, the operator plans to launch its online sportsbook and igaming operations in both states, subject to regulatory approvals.

With the launch of sports betting operations in Michigan and Colorado, the BetAmerica sportsbook platform is also available in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Mississippi.

BetAmerica’s sportsbook in Colorado

CDI launched its BetAmerica sportsbook at the Bronco Billy’s Casino in Cripple Creek, Colorado after inking a market access agreement with Full House Resorts.

The land-based sportsbook at Bronco Billy’s features 10 self-service betting terminals and 2 betting windows offering wagering opportunities on a variety of professional and collegiate sporting events.

Baxter Lee, general manager at Bronco Billy’s Casino, said: “Sports betting enthusiasts from all over Colorado are sure to enjoy these industry-leading kiosk offerings, and our customers are excited to see our Sportsbook open.”

Bill Mudd, COO of CDI said: “Colorado is home to some of the most enthusiastic sports fans in professional and college sports and we are pleased to offer BetAmerica’s state-of-the-art sportsbook experience there.

“Sports betting enthusiasts from all over Colorado are sure to enjoy these industry-leading kiosk offerings,” said Baxter Lee, General Manager at Bronco Billy’s Casino, “and our customers are excited to see our Sportsbook open.”

BetAmerica’s Michigan sportsbook

The BetAmerica sportsbook launched its land-based sportsbook at the Island Resort & Casino in Harris, Michigan.

BetAmerica secured entry into Michigan’s sports betting market via a partnership with the Hannahville Indian Community which owns and operates the casino.

The operator’s Michigan sportsbook features 14 self-service betting terminals and 2 betting windows, offering wagering opportunities on all professional sports leagues.

Kenneth Mesigaud, the Hannahville Indian Community Tribal Chairperson for the Island Resort & Casino said: “We are thrilled to partner with BetAmerica to open the first sportsbook in Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula.

“The BetAmerica Sportsbook is a fantastic addition to our gaming options and combined with our other entertainment opportunities — including two 18-hole championship golf courses — it provides another great reason for people to visit.”

CDI migrating BetAmerica to Kambi and GAN

The launch of the BetAmerica sportsbooks in Colorado and Michigan comes after CDI announced in August it would be migrating the BetAmerica brand to Kambi and GAN software.

With this migration, CDI will be moving away from the previously used SBTech solution it has been using since it launched legal sports betting operations in the US.

Under the agreement with GAN, CDI will use the software company’s player management solution and software platform. CDI will also use Kambi’s sports betting technology for services such as risk management and odds trading.
