Residents in the Hoosier State now have another option for online sports betting.
Last week, Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) announced the launch of its online BetAmerica Sportsbook in the state of Indiana.
With the launch of the online sportsbook, Indiana bettors now have four online sports betting options to choose from.
BetAmerica President Ian Williams said: “We are excited to offer our online BetAmerica Sportsbook to sports betting fans throughout Indiana. Indiana sports enthusiasts can now enjoy placing bets, including in-game betting and super odds boosts, through the online BetAmerica Sportsbook.”
BetAmerica in Indiana
BetAmerica initially entered the Indiana sports betting market through an agreement with Full House Resorts, the owner of Rising Star Casino Resort in Rising Sun, Indiana. In November 2019, CDI launched a land-based, BetAmerica Sportsbook at Rising Star Casino Resort.
Under the deal with Full House, CDI will also be able to offer sports betting at Bronco Billy’s Casino and Hotel in Cripple Creek, Colorado when sports betting in the state goes live. In November 2019, voters in the state of Colorado approved sports betting.
Sports betting in Indiana
Indiana became the tenth state to legalize sports betting following the repeal of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) in 2018.
Governor Eric Holcomb signed HB 1015 into law in May 2019, legalizing land-based and state-wide mobile sports betting. Bettors can sign up for online sportsbook accounts remotely, from anywhere within the state.
On 1 September, Indiana’s sports betting market went live with the Ameristar Casino Hotel East Chicago, the Hollywood Casino & Hotel Lawrenceburg and Indiana Grand Racing & Casino launching land-based sportsbooks.
There are currently four online sportsbooks available in the Hoosier State which includes DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook, BetRivers and now BetAmerica.
