Delaware North and Miomni Gaming partner for sports betting

Casino operator Delaware North has partnered with sportsbook technology provider Miomni Gaming to launch mobile and land-based sports betting across its facilities.

Delaware North plans to launch retail sportsbooks and online sports betting services at its two casinos in West Virginia first.

The Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack in Wheeling and Mardi Gras Casino & Resort near Charleston are expected to implement sports betting this fall.

There is no set launch date yet as the operator wants to launch mobile and retail operations simultaneously.

Alongside its West Virginia casinos, Delaware North also operates gaming establishments in Arkansas, Arizona, Illinois, New York and Ohio.

This partnership will create an exclusive sportsbook technology for Delaware North facilities in states where sports betting is legal and in states where it may become legal in the future.

Brian Hansberry, President of Delaware North’s gaming business, said: “In working with Miomni, a recognized expert firm on the technology side, Delaware North is uniquely positioned to become a leader in the emerging sports wagering sector in the United States.”

Hansberry went on to say: “Leaders in West Virginia were proactive in positioning the state for sports wagering, so Delaware North, with two casinos in West Virginia, is now very much part of a first wave of operators.

“We think that this unique positioning, combined with our professional sports relationships, our ownership and operation of TD Garden in Boston, and our significant hotel and restaurant holdings will entice other casino companies to want to explore the opportunities this partnership can present them.”

This partnership also builds upon Delaware North’s B2B operations in which the operator provides a B2B social casino product to other US casinos.

Luisa Woods, VP of Marketing for Gaming at Delaware North, said: “The partnership with Miomni will allow us to serve a new market of casino operators anxious to benefit from gaming expansion cost-efficiently, while increasing the visibility of their brand, deepening their customer relationships and enhancing the quality of their service offerings.”

The Hollywood Casino in West Virginia is also looking to implement mobile sports betting in the coming weeks.
