DraftKings inks distribution deal with Meadowlark

DraftKings has teamed up with Meadowlark Media in its latest effort to expand its media footprint in the US.

The US sports betting giant DraftKings has announced a content distribution and sponsorship media partnership with Meadowlark Media.

The deal

Under the deal, DraftKings and Meadowlark will distribute the podcast  “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz” and the Le Batard and Friends Network across TV, audio, and online channels.

DraftKings odds, betting trends and sportsbook information will be featured on the show and the wider network.

The sportsbook operator also plans to develop new content in collaboration with Meadowlark.

Later this year, new formats of the “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz” will be launched.

Meadowlark CEO John Skipper said: “We’re thrilled to find a collaborator in DraftKings that shares our vision to grow Dan Le Batard’s already wildly popular network of shows in non-conventional ways.

“With the freedom to widely distribute these programs, we’ll be able to reach the largest possible audience and provide incredible content to DraftKings.”

Jason Robins, CEO, co-founder, and chairman, of DraftKings, said: “John Skipper and Dan Le Batard have established a deep roster of content creators that will continue to expand quality and original programming.

“Our relationship with Meadowlark Media demonstrates DraftKings’ dynamic approach in bringing premium content to skin-in-the-game sports fans through numerous channels.”

This marks the operator’s latest effort to expand its reach in the sports entertainment space.

DraftKings’ push into the media space

Last month, DraftKings acquired Vegas Sports Information Network, Inc. (VSiN), the broadcast and content company that specialises in sports betting news and analysis.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, however, the operator said the deal would allow it to enhance its content in the 14 US states where it operates.

Earlier this month, DraftKings teamed up with the live TV streaming service Sling TV to launch DraftKings Basketball, a new sports betting information channel.

This new channel will allow Sling TV subscribers and Sling’s free users to view real-time game scores and odds.

DraftKings also announced the hiring of Chief Media Officer, Brian Angiolet, to oversee and optimise content creation and media strategy. This will include working with VSiN and Meadowlark on efficient content models to help maximise reach.
