GAN launches online casino platform in Pennsylvania

GAN is the latest operator to launch an online casino platform in the state of Pennsylvania.

GAN has announced the launch of its new PlayLive! online casino platform in the state of Pennsylvania via a partnership with Cordish Gaming Group, the global gaming division of the real estate and entertainment business Cordish Company.

GAN and Cordish inked their online casino partnership in May, building upon an existing agreement under which GAN’s Simulated Gaming launched in 2015 at the Live! Casino & Hotel at Arundel Mills in Maryland.

The PlayLive! platform

GAN’s new site will allow Pennsylvania residents to play a range of real-money online slot games, table games and other online gambling games.

The platform has been integrated with Cordish Company’s ‘Live! Rewards’ loyalty scheme. This will enable Pennsylvania bettors to enrol online for a Live! Rewards Players Card, which can be used at Cordish’s two new Live! land-based venues in the state.

A new land-based venue is set to open in Pittsburgh before the end of the year, followed by another new venue to be opened in Philadelphia in early 2021.

GAN chief executive Dermot Smurfit said: “We are pleased to have launched ‘PlayLive!’ on behalf of Cordish, one of the nation’s leading casino and entertainment companies and an existing GAN client, and look forward to continuing to support the growth of their business by providing a seamless and entertaining online experience for their users.”

Online casino in Pennsylvania

In July 2019, Pennsylvania’s online casino market went live with the launch of Rush Street’s PlaySugarHouse online casino. Since then, several online casinos have launched in the state including Hollywood online casino, Unibet online casino, PokerStars Casino and Parx online casino.

With the launch of GAN’s platforms, Pennsylvanians will now have access to another online casino offering.

The sports betting giant DraftKings launched its standalone online casino application in Pennsylvania the middle of May 2020. FanDuel went onto launch its standalone casino app a month later in the middle of June.
