IGT and FanDuel ink multi-year igaming and sports betting deal for US market

International Game Technology has expanded its deal with FanDuel for the US gambling market.

International Game Technology (IGT) has extended its deal for sports betting and online gambling with FanDuel to cover the entire US gambling market.

This builds upon an existing deal between the two companies where IGT powers FanDuel’s land-based sportsbooks in nine states, including the FanDuel sportsbook located at Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment in New Jersey.

The deal

Under the extended deal, IGT’s PlaySports platform will be used to power all of FanDuel’s existing, and new land-based sportsbook across the entire US until September 2024.

IGT PlayDigital’s arm will also provide FanDuel with its PlayCasino games in states where FanDuel offers online casino gambling. At the time of writing, FanDuel offers online casino gambling in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

IGT will provide the operator with a variety of games including slots, blackjack, and roulette.

FanDuel chief executive, Matt King said: “IGT is the strategic partner that we will lean on to help us expand our retail footprint across the US. IGT’s PlaySports platform enables us to create an intuitive, technologically driven customer experience at our world-class retail sportsbooks for our customers, while PlayCasino content enables us to deliver premium mobile casino entertainment in new and existing markets.”

IGT PlayDigital senior vice president Enrico Drago added: “IGT and FanDuel are positioned for continued success in the US and we are committed to fueling FanDuel Sportsbooks’ sustained growth through our proven, market-ready platform, player-preferred game content and self-service betting technologies.”

FanDuel in the US

Following the repeal of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) in 2018, the daily fantasy sports provider turned multi-vertical gambling operator, FanDuel, has established itself as one of the biggest names in US sports betting.

FanDuel currently operates land-based sportsbooks in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, and Mississippi. The operator also offers its online sports betting platform in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana and Colorado.
