Kindred inks deal with Mohegan Sun Pocono for sports betting in Pennsylvania

Malta-based operator Kindred Group has entered into a strategic partnership with Mohegan Sun Pocono in Pennsylvania.

As part of the partnership, Kindred will be granted the ability to offer both online and offline sports betting in Pennsylvania.

The deal covers an initial five-year period with the possibility to extend the agreement for another two five-year terms.

Kindred will offer sports betting in Pennsylvania under the Unibet brand. Kindred will also launch a Unibet sports betting lounge at Mohegan Sun Pocono.

Aviram Alroy, VP Interactive Gaming at Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment, said: “We’ve aligned with one of the best online casino and sport book operators in online regulated markets which will allow us to offer best in class experience to our existing customers as well as attracting new ones.”

Manuel Stan, SVP Kindred US, said: “We are excited and proud to extend our US footprint into one of the largest US states to regulate both online sports betting and casino.

“Finding a strong partner who shares Kindred’s dedication to customer experience and values has been critical, and I am delighted that we have found just that in Mohegan Sun Pocono.”

With this partnership, Kindred will be able to expand its presence into a second US state. Kindred currently has a presence in the New Jersey sports betting market last week.

This news comes just after Harrah’s Philadelphia launched sports betting operations in Pennsylvania.

There are currently six venues in Pennsylvania that offer legal and regulated sports betting.
