The NFL heads into the final five weeks of the regular season with the fewest number of teams still in playoff contention since realignment in 2002. Five have been eliminated and another five could be gone if results don’t go their way this weekend. The teams in tight division races and fighting for Wild Card berths are the focus of our betting picks this week with the Lions looking to roar back against the galloping Cowboys on Thursday night and their NFC North rivals, the Packers ad Bears, due to meet at Lambeau Field on Sunday.
NFL Week 14 Betting Preview
The primetime schedule features the Texans visiting the Chiefs before the Eagles travel west to face the Chargers on Monday night. UK viewers can follow all the action on Sky Sports NFL, with RedZone available via NFL Game Pass. Sunday’s early window begins at 6pm GMT, late games at 9:25pm, and primetime fixtures run into the early hours of Friday, Monday and Tuesday.
Game 1 – Detroit Lions vs Dallas Cowboys (Friday, 1:15am GMT)
Detroit (7-5) have stumbled of late, losing two of their last three, and injuries to Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) and Sam LaPorta (knee) threaten their offensive balance. The Lions’ defense has also been leaky, conceding 29 points per game in their last three home fixtures.Dallas (6-5-1) are surging after statement wins over the Eagles and Chiefs. Dak Prescott has thrown 11 touchdowns in his last four games, while George Pickens continues his breakout campaign with 1,142 yards and 8 scores. With momentum on their side, the Cowboys look well placed to edge this NFC showdown.
Tip 1: Dallas Cowboys +3.0 @ 10/11
Game 2 – Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers (Sunday, 9:25pm GMT)
The NFC North hangs in the balance as Chicago (9-3) visit Lambeau Field. Rookie QB Caleb Williams has rediscovered his rhythm, throwing three touchdowns in last week’s win over Pittsburgh, while the Bears’ ground game has been dominant behind D’Andre Swift. Green Bay (8-3-1) are riding a hot streak, with Jordan Love ranking first in EPA per play since Week 11. However, injuries to RB Josh Jacobs (knee) and WR Jayden Reed (foot) could limit their offensive options. Chicago’s offensive line ranks first in pass block win rate, giving Williams the protection to keep this close.
Tip 2: Chicago Bears +6.5 @ 10/11
Game 3 – Houston Texans vs Kansas City Chiefs (Monday, 1:20am GMT)
The Texans (7-5) have relied on their elite defence and the NFL smarts of backup QB Davis Mills to stay in playoff contention. Starter C.J. Stroud returned from a concussion last week and led them to victory over the Indianapolis Colts to reopen the AFC South race. Meanwhile, Kansas City lost their sixth game of the year last week to tie for the most regular-season losses in the Patrick Mahomes era and five tough weeks still lie ahead.
Travis Kelce remains a reliable force while the rest of the Chiefs’ receiving corps struggle to create separation. Arrowhead is a tough place to win, but Houston’s defence and rest advantage make them dangerous underdogs in a matchup where points could be at a premium. –Six of the Chiefs’ last seven games have cashed for the Under, as have four of the Texans’ last five.
Tip 3: Under 42.0 Total points @ 10/11
Game 4 – Philadelphia Eagles vs Los Angeles Chargers (Tuesday, 1:15am GMT)
The Eagles (8-4) are desperate to halt a two-game skid. QB Jalen Hurts has been inconsistent, and the offensive line is banged up with Lane Johnson (ankle) questionable. Defensively, Philadelphia have allowed 14 rushing touchdowns this season. The Chargers (8-4) are also battling injuries with QB Justin Herbert playing through the pain of a fractured non-throwing hand. Their offensive line protection has been poor, ranking among the worst in pressure rate allowed. The Eagles’ superior depth should help them rebound.
