NFL Week 16 Preview

All eyes are on the Week 16 action from across the United States as the NFL regular season edges even closer to a conclusion, with teams battling for playoff places. UK viewers can catch the action on Sky Sports NFL, with RedZone available via NFL Game Pass. 

The first game begins at 1:15am BST on Friday morning, with Seattle Seahawks hosting Los Angeles Rams at Lumen Field. There are 12 games to look forward to on Sunday, with the clash between Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers the one creeping into the small hours of Monday morning, before two Tuesday games to cap off what is set to be a high-stakes Week 16 in the NFL.

Game 1: Washington Commanders vs Philadelphia Eagles (Saturday 10.00pm BST)

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni will have been somewhat relieved to see his side get back to winning ways with a 31-0 win at home to Las Vegas Raiders last time out. Bringing to an end a three-game losing streak for Philly, the Eagles have the chance to get their hands on the NFC East title on Saturday when they take on divisional rivals Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium. With Dallas Cowboys losing against Minnesota Vikings in Week 15, just one win will see the Eagles finish top of the pile and they can get the job done in style against the Commanders.

Washington will be without star quarterback Jayden Daniels for the remainder of the season and fellow QB Jalen Hurts and company can run riot at Northwest Stadium to claim the win and cover the spread.

Game 2: Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers (Sunday 1.20am BST)

Chicago Bears will have revenge on their minds when they host Green Bay Packers in a game that will have a significant influence on the destination of the NFC North title this term. Winning six of their last seven games, the Bears are the team who just edge it at the top of the division, with their last defeat coming away at Green Bay earlier this month. A slow start cost the Bears that game at Lambeau Field, with just three points scored in the first half. Chicago won’t make that mistake at Soldier Field and, with the Packers without injured defensive star Micah Parsons, the Bears can triumph in Illinois on Sunday.

Game 3: New York Giants vs Minnesota Vikings (Sunday 6.00pm BST)

With postseason qualification now out of the question, Minnesota Vikings will be keen to finish the season with some momentum on their side. A damaging four-game skid brought their NFC North hopes to an end, but back-to-back wins over the Commanders and the Cowboys have given fans a glimpse of what they might be able to expect next season. They now travel to face a 2-12 New York Giants outfit enduring a torrid run, having lost eight straight games and four times at MetLife Stadium this season. Minnesota are a side who appear to be on the up and the Vikings are in a strong position to claim a third win in succession and cover the -3.5 handicap in East Rutherford.
