Rush Street launches online casino in Pennsylvania

Rush Street Interactive has announced the launch of a new online casino platform in Pennsylvania.

The Rush Street Interactive (RSI) department of Rush Street Gaming has announced the launch of a new online casino in the state of Pennsylvania.

Rush Street’s new casino platform will support the online and mobile BetRivers-branded sports betting platform.

After successfully launching PlaySugarHouse casino in July 2019 and the launch of the BetRivers casino platform, Rush Street now has two online casino platforms active in the state of Pennsylvania.

A bit about the BetRivers casino platform

The new BetRivers casino offering provides players with several slots and table games and is available on the same platform as the BetRivers sportsbook. This means that users can switch between the sportsbook and casino verticals seamlessly and use a single wallet to fund gaming on both verticals.

At the time of writing, the games available include roulette, blackjack and baccarat, and more than 60 slot games. The new platform has also been integrated into the iRush Rewards scheme, allowing players to carry over reward points from other platforms.

Richard Schwartz, president of Rush Street Interactive, said: “We wanted to launch our award-winning online casino platform prior to the Super Bowl. Our experience in NJ and PA with PlaySugarHouse.com has validated that online sportsbook players also enjoy the full-services of our casinos, especially the table games.

“We are proud to now offer more betting action and excitement by adding the online casino at BetRivers.com,” added Schwartz. “The unique full-service casino on PlaySugarHouse.com in PA, which launched in July using the same platform, has achieved market share of greater than 40% in Q4 of last year, and we expect players will similarly enjoy the BetRivers.com experience.”

Gambling in Pennsylvania

Since its launch, Pennsylvania’s betting market has seen tremendous growth and shows no signs of slowing down. In just over half a year of online wagering, Pennsylvania sportsbooks appear to be mirroring the success seen by the New Jersey sports betting market.

There are currently 10 land-based and seven online sportsbooks operating in the Keystone State.

Mobile and online sports betting officially went live in Pennsylvania in May 2019, when SugarHouse Casino launched its online betting platform, PlaySugarHouse. Currently, Pennsylvania bettors have access to a handful of online betting options, which include Unibet, DraftKings, FanDuel, SugarHouse, Rivers, Parx and Fox Bet.

In July 2019, Pennsylvania’s online casino market went live with the launch of Rush Street’s PlaySugarHouse online casino. Since then, several online casinos have launched in the state including Hollywood online casino, Unibet online casino, PokerStars Casino and Parx online casino.
