Unibet strikes partnership with the Philadelphia Eagles

Unibet has only just arrived in Pennsylvania and is already making some big plays.

On Friday, Kindred Group’s Unibet announced a multi-year partnership which will see Unibet become an official partner of the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles.

With the partnership, the Unibet brand will be featured around the Eagles’ stadium and across digital channels. This agreement marks the first-ever casino partnership for the football team.

As the NFL’s rules prohibit the promotion of sports betting services at stadiums and during broadcasts, Unibet will only be able to advertise its casino services at the stadium.

What’s covered in the deal

Under the deal, the Unibet brand will be featured on the digital billboard at the Philadelphia Eagles’ Lincoln Financial Field stadium during games and in some of the stadium’s luxury suites.

Kindred’s brand will also be featured on the Eagles’ website, social media platforms and in team publications.

Catherine Carlson, senior vice president of revenue and strategy for the Philadelphia Eagles, said: “Unibet’s reputation as a global leader in the online gambling space has helped the company establish a strong, emerging footprint in the Philadelphia market.

“We are proud to align ourselves with a company that is fully dedicated to innovation, the customer experience, and responsible gaming.”

Unibet’s Head of US Marketing, Arnas Jackson, said: “As we look to grow our footprint in the US, it only made sense to partner with one of the largest, most respected and loved teams in the NFL. The Eagles unmatched fan engagement and relentless innovation in digital space definitely helped to make this partnership a reality.”

Unibet in Pennsylvania

Back in January, Kindred announced a partnership with Mohegan Sun Pocono to bring the Unibet sports betting brand to the Keystone State.

At the end of September, the Unibet branded land-based sportsbook at Mohegan Sun opened its doors to the public. Unibet has yet to launch its online sports betting site and app, however, the European betting giant announced it will be launching sometime in November.

Unibet initially entered the US sports betting market through a partnership with Hard Rock Atlantic City. The online sportsbook brand officially launched its online betting platform in New Jersey in September.

As sports betting goes live in more states, it’s only a matter of time until we begin to see Unibet’s sportsbook in other parts of the country.

Sports betting in Pennsylvania

There are currently 10 land-based and five online sportsbooks operating in the Keystone State.

Mobile and online sports betting officially went live in Pennsylvania in May, when SugarHouse Casino launched its online platform, PlaySugarHouse.

Currently, Pennsylvania bettors have access to a handful of online betting options, which include FanDuel, SugarHouse, Rivers, Parx and Fox Bet.

Last week, daily fantasy sports provider turned sports betting operator, DraftKings, received approval to launch its online platform in Pennsylvania.

Once Unibet’s online sportsbook goes live, bettors in the Keystone State will have another online betting option.

In September, sportsbooks in the Keystone State took more than $194.5m in sports bets and generated $19m in revenue.

In Pennsylvania, online wagering accounted for $158.2m of the $194.5m that was wagered in September. Online was also the primary source of income for sportsbooks and accounted for $13.7m of the state’s sports betting revenue in September.
