Champions League Quarter-Finals First Leg Betting Preview

The Champions League reaches the quarter-final stage with the first legs of the last-eight ties played over Tuesday, April 7 and Wednesday, April 8. 

Setting The Scene

There are just eight teams left in the Champions League as the elite sides do battle in Europe’s premier competition. Bayern Munich head to Real Madrid for a heavyweight last-eight first-leg tie on Tuesday night, while tournament favourites Arsenal will hope to put last weekend’s FA Cup disappointment behind them when they travel to Lisbon to face Sporting. Wednesday night sets up an all-Spanish tie between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid at the Nou Camp and defending Champions League kings PSG host Premier League champions Liverpool in Paris.

PSG have won only three of their last seven Champions League games and the Parisians didn’t look great when losing to Sporting and only drawing with Newcastle, Athletic Club and Monaco. Liverpool are fancied to edge a low-scoring tie and a 1-0 Reds victory in Paris appeals.
