Reviews of the Best Betting Sites

  • The sportsbook at HeySpin comes loaded with all the features you’d expect from one of the best online bookies, including a Bet Builder and Cash Out, and all the same sports too. This site covers everything from football, tennis and golf to field hockey, floorball and esports. To welcome you as a new bettor, there’s a £10 free bet up for grabs when you deposit and bet £15. And for existing customers, there’s a profit boost of 4–77% available on winning accas with at least four pre-match selections at minimum odds of 1.5. We particularly like the broad range of sports available – including some that aren’t always recognised at an online site such as table tennis and volleyball.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Great choice of sports
    • Offers Bet Builder and Cash Out
    • Profit boosts on winning accas
    cons icon Cons:
    • Sportsbook welcome bonus not particularly generous
    • No mobile app
  • One of the top picks in our UK betting sites list, the sportsbook at 32Red often proves popular with online bettors. Little wonder. This site features an excellent choice of sports to bet on and offers particularly good coverage of football and ice hockey betting markets. Other perks include all the great stuff you want from an online bookie: in-play betting, live streams and a cash out option that allows you to settle bets early to secure a profit. For horse racing fans, there are better odds to be enjoyed on select races each day courtesy of daily horseracing odds boosts.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Great perks including live streaming and in-play betting
    • Daily horse racing odds boosts
    • Thousands of ice hockey and football betting markets
    cons icon Cons:
    • No current welcome offer for the sportsbook
  • Sign up for a new online betting account at Bet UK and you’ll get £60 of free bets when you deposit and bet £20. Once you’re all set up, there are plenty of sports to bet on, including everything from American Football to WWE. One thing we liked about the site is its free betting tips, live betting options and a packed promotions page with lots of ways to earn free bets and profit boosts hold plenty of appeal.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Deposit with PayPal, debit cards and instant bank transfers
    • Expert betting tips for football and horse racing
    • Free bet offers for new and existing customers
    cons icon Cons:
    • 3 x £10 free bonus bets must be used on accas
  • Bet365 gives new players a welcome bonus of bet £10 get £30 in free bets, while existing punters can claim the 70% Soccer Accumulator Bonus that rewards successful selections with a cash bonus. Withdrawals at Bet365 are also some of the fastest around with debit card payouts taking between one to five working days, and within 24 hours for PayPal customers. You can also make the most of a high-quality native mobile app that can be downloaded from both the Google Play and the App Store.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Unique early payout offers
    • Accumulator bonuses
    • Live streaming available on top sporting events
    • Wide range of sports and markets
    • Bet-builder with up to 12 selections on any football match
    cons icon Cons:
    • Bet-builder with up to 12 selections on any football match
  • Most sports betting sites prescribe a welcome bonus on new members, but at Parimatch, you’ll be able to take your pick from a selection of offers. For example, one of the current welcome offers is for bet £10, get £20 in free bets. Or for football fans, you might like the offer of up to £30 free bets refund plus £10 on the slots. We really like the broad mix of sports to bet on, the option to build your own bet slip, and fantastic odds boost events for new customers.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Choose from three welcome offers
    • 34 different sports to bet on
    • Bet builder
    • Great odds boosts for new members
    cons icon Cons:
    • No mobile app
    • No ongoing promotions for existing members
  • If it’s live streaming facilities you’re looking for, this is one area Bwin excels – members can watch live action from events in football, tennis, basketball, darts, snooker, and loads more. There are 36 different sports on offer at this sportsbook, and as an official UEFA partner, members can throw their names in the hat for exclusive VIP tickets to European football tournaments. With enhanced accas, best odds guaranteed, and a range of virtual sports markets on offer, Bwin is a diverse and experienced betting site.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Extensive live streaming facilities
    • Enhanced accas and best odds guaranteed on horse racing
    • 36 different sports to bet on
    • Virtual sports markets
    • Huge range of payment methods
    cons icon Cons:
    • Small welcome bonus of £20
  • As one of the oldest bookies in the industry, Betfred know a thing or two about keeping punters happy. The Acca Insurance promotion offered by the sportsbook is just one example, paying out up to £10 in free bets if one leg of your 5+ accumulator lets you down. There are a whole range of other sports for you to wager on too as well as an easily accessible casino, lottery and bingo offering. If you’re thinking of signing up to Betfred, then we would recommend downloading the native mobile app too for the best handheld betting experience.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Acca insurance
    • User-friendly interface
    • #PickYourPunt bet-builder
    • Fantastic football promotions
    cons icon Cons:

  • 10bet offers punters a lot in order to compete with the bigger industry names. Debit card withdrawals are complete within just one to two working days, while payouts using e-wallet options, such as PayPal, Neteller and Skrill, will take just 48 hours to go through. What’s more, existing customers can also make the most of frequent promotions for the biggest upcoming sporting events from the Premier League and beyond.

    pros icon Pros:
    • 50% boost on all 3+ acca bets
    • 24/7 live support
    cons icon Cons:
    • No live streaming
    • 8x wagering requirement for welcome bonuses
  • Betiton was founded as recently as 2020, but you wouldn’t guess it just by looking at their site. When you head over to Betiton, you’ll be greeted by enough sports and markets to excite any enthusiastic bettor. No matter what sport or competition you’re interested in, I’m certain Beticon will have you covered. Its esports selection is particularly impressive, so it’s worth having a look if you’re new to the genre.

When you sign up and bet your first £15, you’ll be given a £10 free bet to be used on any sport or market of your choice, but make sure you’ve made your first deposit with your debit card, as other payment methods aren’t eligible. Once you’ve got your first deposit out of the way, however, there are plenty of payment options at your disposal at Betiton, including PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Trustly, AstroPay, MuchBetter and Paysafecard.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Huge library of sports and markets
    • New up-and-coming brand
    • Support for all payment preferences
    • £10 free bet welcome offer
    cons icon Cons:
    • Minimum deposit requirement of £15 for free bet offer
  • My experience of Slots n Sports — on both desktop and mobile-optimised sites — was smooth, stress-free and highly enjoyable. The first thing that struck me upon entering Slots n Sports was the slightly retro, stripped-back design of the site, which is a nice departure from the more lavish interfaces that the majority of UK betting brands tend to opt for. The interface for their football betting section, in particular, reminded me of the beloved football manager games of the early-to-mid 2000s, which, if you’re anything like me, will make you feel quite at home.

After signing up and depositing the minimum £20 required to claim Slots n Sports’ welcome offer of a £5 free bet, I explored the impressive range of sports and markets on offer, and found placing bets an easy, intuitive process. If I had to raise one small concern, it would be that this welcome offer is quite modest in comparison with Slots n Sports’ competitors, especially considering the minimum £20 deposit. But this shouldn’t deter you from giving Slots n Sports a try, as there’s plenty to shout about across the site.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Excellent variety of sports and markets
    • Superb esports offering
    • Well-designed site that’s easy to navigate
    • Plenty of different payment options
    cons icon Cons:
    • Minimum deposit requirement of £20 for welcome bonus of £5
  • Through BoyleSports’ Acca Loyalty scheme, there’s a £5 free acca bet to claim when you place five of your own at odds of 3/1 or higher. Combine this with the option to boost your acca returns by 100%, and to insure your acca if one leg lets you down, and this is the bookie for multi-leg bets. Punters will receive their money back as a free bet on horse and greyhound racing events when their pick finishes second to the SP favourite, and you’ll receive best odds guaranteed on these events too. With bet builders available on football markets, a dedicated mobile app, and up to £25 in free bets on offer through the welcome bonus, BoyleSports is a well-rounded sportsbook.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Mobile app
    • Great acca bonuses
    • Bet builder on football bets
    • Good horse and greyhound racing promos
    cons icon Cons:
    • Welcome offer is hard to find
  • One of our favourite aspects of BetStorm is that it runs promotions on ten different sports, so whether you’re into the brutality of the UFC or the precision of darts, you can pick a promo for your preferred sport. BetStorm’s Wager Wars is also a unique feature of the site, rewarding bettors’ successful bets by placing them on a betting leaderboard; if you finish in the top five at the end of a betting campaign, you’ll receive a cash prize. There’s a £10 free bet to claim following your first £10 wager, and cashback is available on football, tennis, basketball, and ice hockey markets.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Promotions on ten different sports
    • Wager Wars for extra cash prizes
    • Cashback available
    cons icon Cons:
    • No mobile app
    • Small number of promotions
  • Grosvenor is a name that is more frequently associated with both land-based and online casinos, but I was more than pleasantly surprised by their sports betting platform.

Instead of your typical free bet welcome offer, Grosvenor has opted for a bonus that will ‘Double the Odds’ of your first stake up to £10. Though this isn’t quite as generous as some other offers on the market, it encourages you to carefully consider where you’re placing your bets. Plus, after you sign up, you’ll be offered a wide range of ongoing promotions that are sure to keep you stocked up on bonuses moving forward, so don’t be disheartened by the lack of free bets straight off the bat.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Trusted and established brand
    • Unique, ‘Double the Odds’ welcome bonus
    • Plenty of ongoing promotions for both sportsbook and online casino
    • Classy, navigable and intuitive site design
    cons icon Cons:
    • No free bets welcome offer
  • Every leg you add beyond the third fold in an accumulator bet at Luckster will receive an odds boost. This begins with 4% at four legs, 7% at five, rising all the way to 77% on a 15-fold wager, which can generate some massive potential returns. Kick things off with a £10 free bet when you deposit and bet £10 of your own, before making use of Luckster’s Favourites tab, where you can organise your go-to markets and bets.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Odds boosts on accumulator bets
    • Tools to help organise your sportsbook
    cons icon Cons:
    • No mobile app
    • Small number of promotions
  • Mr Mega’s sports betting platform was only launched in 2021, but after spending some time exploring the site’s various markets and features, I can assure you that it more than holds its own against the more established brands.

Though the site, which features a rather colourless interface, perhaps isn’t as nicely designed as some of its competitors, everything you could ever ask for in a sports betting site is here. There’s an excellent range of sports on offer, so there’s no danger of not being able to find the sport or competition you want to bet on. Plus, there’s a good range of ongoing promotions for existing customers, including boosts on all pre-match accumulators.

The welcome bonus — ‘Bet £15 get £10 Free Bet — isn’t as substantial as other available sign up offers, but a £10 free bet is nothing to be sniffed at, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy deciding where to place it.

    pros icon Pros:
    • £10 free bet welcome offer
    • Covers a huge range of sports
    • Separate 100% matched deposit casino bonus
    • Excellent payment methods coverage
    cons icon Cons:
    • Bland site design

Best UK Gambling Sites

Here at Compare.bet, we are committed to helping people find their ideal UK betting site. Beyond providing useful, informative and responsible information about various aspects of gambling, we also rank and review a number of the UK’s top brands, allowing our readers to compare a number of different options before deciding which betting site suits them best.

All the information provided on this page — which is regularly updated to ensure that it remains accurate and relevant — is based on extensive research from industry experts, and each user review is conducted in line with a strict editorial code of honesty and integrity.

If you’re interested in signing up to a new UK betting site, read on to learn more about how they operate and compare our in-depth reviews.

How To Choose the Best Betting Sites for You

In order to arrive at a comprehensive assessment of each site’s best and worst qualities, we take a number of different factors into account when ranking UK betting sites. Our expert reviewers grade every gambling site’s most important factors individually, which are weighted according to their contribution to the overall gambling experience. To give you a better sense of our ranking process, here’s a list of all the factors that make up our reviews.

User Experience

A consideration of user experience is at the heart of everything we do here at Compare.bet. As experienced gamblers ourselves, we know what users are looking for, and our reviewers take an honest, first-hand approach to compiling their reviews. Primarily, user experience comes down to how intuitive and user-friendly the site is, which is based on things such as site design and navigability, but it also bleeds into all subsequent criteria.

Bonuses

Bonuses are an integral part of online betting, and are often the first thing users look for when choosing a new betting site. As such, the quality of a site’s bonuses — for both new and existing players — is a major part of our ranking criteria.

Most betting site bonuses come in the form of free bets, while online casinos tend to reward new customers with matched deposit bonuses and free spins. But whatever the bonus, we make sure we’ve looked into all the various terms and conditions to determine just how valuable an advertised bonus is. Not only will we review the bonuses on offer, but we’ll be sure to let our readers know how they can make the most out of them.

Payment Options

The ability to make quick deposits and withdrawals with your preferred payment method is crucial to a smooth gambling experience. With that in mind, we prioritise betting sites that provide a wide range of payment options, from debit cards and e-wallets to prepaid cards and pay by mobile.

Available Markets and Odds

All of the betting sites we review should be able to provide competitive odds on a variety of popular sports and betting markets. If there are any glaring omissions, we’ll be sure to let you know about it. However, we’re confident that each of the operators featured on our list of the best UK betting sites will offer all of your favourite sports and markets. They’ll also offer a range of in-play markets that give you the chance to place bets as all the action unfolds.

Customer Support

An efficient customer support network is an absolute must at UK betting sites — our reviewers conduct a thorough assessment of the quality and response time of the customer service on offer. Ideally, we like to see support for 24-hour live chat, but understand that not every site will be able to provide such a service. If that’s the case, we expect support to be available via a responsive email address, phone number or social media account. A detailed FAQs page goes a long way, too.

Mobile Capabilities

To be considered a top UK betting site, it’s essential to offer a high-performing mobile experience. Whether you’re on a dedicated mobile app or a mobile-optimised site, the best betting sites should function just as smoothly on mobile as they do on a desktop, so we conduct our reviews using a number of different devices and operating systems.

Compare Betting Offers at Sportsbooks

You can compare bets at sports sites, discover features like live betting and live streaming, and find the answers to betting FAQs by exploring our website. But we can’t wait a minute longer to tell you about the fantastic bonuses that can make your online sports betting experience even more fun, and hopefully a bit more lucrative too. Read on to find out more.

Free Bets

Bookies often hand out free sports bets to newcomers, though you’ll usually need to deposit and place your first bet to qualify. At Coral, for example, you’ll need to deposit and wager £5 to get a £20 free bet. Many top bookies allow you to withdraw winnings from free bet offers straight away, while others will ask you to wager winnings a few times before cashing out.

As a returning punter, bet clubs allow you to place bets to earn a weekly free wager for your betslip. Bet clubs are more common on established sites but it’s still worth checking out what new betting sites have to offer. For football punters, they may run one-off promos such as ‘bet £25 on the Premier League to get £10 to spend on an in-play betting market’, or a similar deal for the likes of the Champions League or the NFL.

Matched Deposits

Matched deposit bonuses are more of a casino promo, but you do come across the odd bookmaker offering these deals. They work by matching real money deposits with an amount in bonus funds. So, for example, with a 50% deposit match, you could bag an extra £10 credit to use on sports bets when you deposit £20. You’ll usually need to wager any bonus funds at least once before you can cash out.

Betting Refunds & Risk-Free Bets

Betting refunds and risk-free bets both give you your money back if your bet turns out to be a dud. You may get your stake back as cash, though it’s more common to receive a refund in bonus funds with wagering requirements attached. For example, Unibet offers up to £40 back as a bonus if your first bet loses. You’ll need to wager your bonus 3x at minimum odds of 1.40 within seven days to be able to withdraw, but you also get a £10 casino bonus, so it’s a good deal overall.

Best Odds Guaranteed

Best odds guarantees are really common at bookies with horse racing betting markets. Also known as BoG promos, they’re usually available on singles and multiples for outright win and each-way markets. These racing deals pay winners at the odds that are offered either at the time at which you place your bet or at the off — whichever is the best price of the two. Such offers allow you to place bets early for events like the Grand National and the Goodwood Cup, knowing you’ll get the best odds available without any fuss.

Acca Insurance

Acca insurance is a type of promotion that top bookies put on the menu for combo bettors. Accumulator bets can pay out larger sums by combining the odds on multiple selections, sometimes on the same game but more often across multiple sporting events. However, just one bad pick can ruin the bet. Acca insurance helps soften the blow by returning some or all of your stake if your acca is a bust due to one selection. You’ll usually get this in the form of a free bet.

Compare Betting Payment Methods

Online betting sites accept a wide variety of payment methods, so you should have no problem finding one to suit. We include specific details about the different banking options at individual sites in our reviews, which you’ll hopefully find useful when you compare top betting sites and weigh up the bonuses at operators like Betfair, Betfred, and William Hill. In the meantime, here’s a roundup of some of the most common banking options.

Debit Cards

Debit cards often sit right at the top of the cashier pages on online betting sites, and for good reason: they’re familiar, readily accessible, offer secure, instant deposits, and rarely attract fees. Another advantage of debit cards like Visa and Mastercard is that they pretty much always qualify for betting site bonuses like free bets and bonus spins.  Payouts to debit cards are also available, though occasionally not to Mastercard. However, debit cards have some of the longest withdrawal times of all the banking options — sometimes taking up to seven days — so you might wait longer than you’d like to receive your funds.

e-Wallets

You can often use e-wallets like PayPal, Neteller, and Skrill to deposit at betting sites, with newer alternatives like MuchBetter and ecoPayz also becoming increasingly available. Digital wallets offer many perks, but the main one is that you don’t have to share your bank details to make a payment. Many providers also offer additional features such as access to a prepaid card and the option to buy and sell crypto.  Deposits made with an e-wallet are instant, while withdrawals are usually completed within 48 hours. However, while you aren’t likely to be charged for casino withdrawals, there may be fees incurred when withdrawing from the wallet. The other main downside is that e-wallet deposits don’t always qualify for bonuses.

Trustly

Trustly is an Open Banking payment method that facilitates fast and secure transactions from your online bank account. Trustly allows users to deposit and withdraw without entering any bank details, or being redirected to an external banking app, making it one of the most efficient payment methods currently available at UK betting sites. Trustly’s only potential shortcoming is that you won’t find it at every betting site, and it may not be accepted as a qualifying deposit method for your bonuses.

Prepaid Cards

Prepaid cards like Paysafecard often feature on betting site cashier pages. Paysafecard isn’t actually a card at all, but rather a voucher you can buy from shops like Asda and local grocery stores. Each voucher has a unique code that you can use to make online payments. Deposits are instant, but you’ll need a Paysafecard account to make deposits over £40 and Paysafecard payouts are rarely available, even with an account. AstroPay is a newer service that is a sound alternative — it allows users to create and fund virtual prepaid cards using their AstroPay balance or another payment method. What’s more, it also functions as a digital wallet, so you can use it to withdraw funds.

AstroPay

AstroPay is a versatile payment method that operates both as an e-wallet and a prepaid card provider. Its online prepaid card service enables users to purchase up to ten digital vouchers at any one time, which can then be used to make instant deposits at a number of betting sites simply by entering the card details. As an e-wallet, AstroPay also has the ability to facilitate fast withdrawals, but unfortunately this is only an option at a limited number of UK betting sites at the moment. We expect this to change in the near future, however, so set up an AstroPay account or download the app to keep an eye out for this exciting payment option in the banking sections of your favourite gambling sites.

Pay by Phone

While it’s not as readily available as other banking options, some online betting sites accept deposits from Pay by Phone services. These deposits are deducted from your PAYG balance or charged to your next monthly bill. Carrier billing payment services allow you to make instant deposits but are usually limited to £30 a pop, so aren’t best suited to high rollers. There’s no charge for using pay by mobile services like Boku and Payforit, but betting sites may levy their own fee of around 15% of your deposit. Pay by Phone deposits are rarely eligible for promos, nor are withdrawals available using this method.

PayPal Betting Alternatives
Cryptocurrencies

Despite the boom in interest in crypto, it’s still pretty tough to find sports betting sites that accept cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. Casinos with Bitcoin deposits are more readily available, though there aren’t too many just yet that are licensed by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC). Online betting with crypto offers plenty of advantages for players with a good grasp on how blockchain currencies work, but we recommend you exercise caution with these sites, and we will never review sites which lack a UKGC licence. One way to potentially use crypto at UK sites is to manage your funds with a reputable e-wallet, converting from crypto to GBP before depositing on trusted sites.

Bank Transfer

Traditional bank transfers can take a few days, so many betting sites offer an instant option via Trustly. You won’t need to part with any financial details when you use Trustly, as you’ll simply log in to your bank using your regular credentials and confirm the instant deposit. It’s that simple. There are no fees to pay with Trustly or accounts to open, plus you’ll qualify for most bonuses and enjoy withdrawals that are completed in under 3 days. Regular bank transfers still have their place, but they’re one of the only methods where deposits aren’t instant, and withdrawals can take up to seven days. Still, some players use them to cash out if they’ve used a deposit method that doesn’t support withdrawals, such as prepaid cards or Pay by Mobile.
