Newcastle vs Arsenal Betting Preview

Newcastle United take on Arsenal at St James’ Park on Sunday (4.30pm kick-off) as they look to win just their second Premier League game of the season. Arsenal find themselves five points behind Liverpool in the race for the title and this tricky clash will test their credentials (live on Sky Sports Football).

Mikel Arteta enjoyed a productive summer transfer window, adding in quality such as Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze to name a few.

With improved squad depth, it looked as though this season would finally be Arsenal’s time to end their two-decade wait for a domestic title.

After five Premier League matches, however, the Gunners trail Liverpool by five points. Arteta’s men may have defeated Manchester United and drawn with Manchester City, but a 1-0 loss to the Anfield side showcased their weaknesses.

Newcastle have scored just three times in the top flight this term, netting two or more goals in only one fixture – the 3-2 defeat to Liverpool.

Four games were played between these sides last season, with the Magpies winning three times and Arsenal prevailing just once.
