Gameweek 3 of the Premier League season sets up a huge Anfield showdown between title hopefuls Liverpool and Arsenal. The Reds have strengthened last season’s championship-winning team, but the Gunners’ summer transfer moves have been even more impressive. We have four selections across what should be an excellent weekend of top-flight action.
Premier League Gameweek 3 Preview
Bet 1 – Brentford to beat Sunderland @ 6/4 with CopyBet
The doom and gloom surrounding Brentford’s Premier League prospects appears to be totally misplaced and the Bees can show their class at Sunderland. The west Londoners lost manager Thomas Frank to Tottenham and key forward Bryan Mbeumo left for Manchester United, but the Bees are no strangers to departing stars and Keith Andrews’ men weren’t fazed when beating Aston Villa 1-0 in their most recent Premier League contest.
Brentford followed up that top-flight success with an excellent 2-0 League Cup victory at Bournemouth and the Bees can buzz again at the Stadium of Light. Sunderland were beaten 2-0 at Burnley, which took the gloss off their opening 3-0 Premier League win against West Ham, and the Black Cats look too short.
Bet 2 – Brighton to beat Manchester City @ 3/1 with CopyBet
Brighton look a huge price to upset Manchester City on Sunday. The Citizens were torn apart in a 2-0 Etihad defeat to Tottenham last weekend and Pep Guardiola’s side have appeared way off the pace in the early part of the campaign.
Kevin de Bruyne has left, Rodri is yet to return to his best, Ederson is out of favour and the City defence looks leaky at best. The Seagulls were beaten 2-0 at Everton last time out, but they bossed the ball and played pretty well. Before that Brighton were the better team when drawing 1-1 with Fulham. A home win looks great value at 3/1.
Bet 3 – Over 3.5 goals in Liverpool v Arsenal @ 9/5 with CopyBet
Liverpool look like they aren’t going to engage with defence this season and their opening two Premier League matches have finished in 4-2 and 3-2 victories. Even the Community Shield ended in a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace and, while the Reds are seriously dangerous in attack, they look wide open at the back.
Arsenal have boosted their attack with Viktor Gyokeres and the Gunners fired five goals in last weekend’s hammering of Leeds. Backing over 3.5 goals looks a play.
Bet 4 – Aston Villa to beat Crystal Palace @ 22/25 with CopyBet
Aston Villa rate the final bet of the weekend. Crystal Palace’s squad is pretty thin following Eberechi Eze’s departure to Arsenal and the Eagles had a long trip to Norway on Thursday night.
It hasn’t been the start to the season Villa would have hoped for, but they can collect their first victory of the campaign on Sunday.
