It is time for the third Major of the season with the US Open taking place at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, which hosts the prestigious tournament for the sixth time and first since 2018.
US Open Betting Preview
Sky Sports Golf will have coverage of all four days, with the cameras going live at 12:30 on both Thursday and Friday while Saturday and Sunday’s action is available to watch from 15:00 and 16:00 respectively. World number one Scottie Scheffler heads into the event as the favourite as he aims to become the seventh male golfer to win the Grand Slam, a feat most recently achieved by Rory McIlroy.
Tip1 – Jon Rahm to win @ 14/1 with talkSPORT Bet
Jon Rahm has enjoyed another consistent season on LIV Golf, winning in Hong Kong and Mexico while adding a further four runner-up finishes. The Spaniard almost won last month’s US PGA Championship, taking second place after ending up three shots behind Englishman Aaron Rai. A third Major victory doesn’t seem to be far away and it would be no surprise if Rahm were to come out on top in this event, which he won back in 2021. Rahm ranks first for greens in regulation and total birdies on LIV this season and his game looks to be in fine shape for this Shinnecock test.
Tip 2 – Wyndham Clark to win @ 40/1 with BETVICTOR
Like Rahm, Wyndham Clark is also a previous US Open winner. The American denied a chasing McIlroy at Los Angeles Country Club in 2023 in what was his first and sole Major win to date. Since then, Clark’s best result at a Major was a tied-fourth effort at the 2025 Open Championship, but he arrives in New York in superb form and a contender to take the trophy home. A win at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson a few weeks ago was followed up by finishing third at the Memorial and then taking 11th place in Canada on Sunday. If he can get his putter firing at Shinnecock, Clark could continue his fine run of form.
Tip 3 – Cameron Smith to win @ 90/1 with bet365
Prior to the 2026 PGA Championship, Cameron Smith had missed six consecutive Major cuts dating back to the Open in 2024. That ended last month, when the Australian was a genuine contender on the back nine at Aronimink in the US PGA. A few missed putts coming down the stretch meant he ended up finishing seventh, but it was a welcome return to form at one of the biggest events in the game. Smith finished fifth at Valderrama last week on the LIV circuit and that was perfect preparation considering how difficult a course that is. With one Major under his belt – the 2022 Open – Smith knows how to win at the biggest events and he is certainly appealing at big odds.
