Best IGT Slots & Casinos: Top 10 Games Ranked

Last updated:

IGT — International Game Technology — is the oldest slot studio in this cluster. Founded in 1975, IGT built much of the modern slot industry's foundations through physical casino machines (Cleopatra, Wheel of Fortune, Megabucks) before transitioning to online. The Megabucks jackpot network produced the largest slot payout in casino history — $39.7 million at the Excalibur Las Vegas in 2003. We've ranked the top 10 IGT slots available at UK casinos and picked the casinos with the deepest IGT libraries.

How we Rank

How we ranked the best IGT slots

IGT’s online catalogue is dominated by online ports of physical casino machines, which means the typical IGT slot runs at lower RTP than modern online-native studios. Our ranking process applies six criteria specific to IGT:

Criteria What we look for
RTP verification IGT slots typically run 93–96% RTP in the UK — lower than online-native competitors. We confirm the RTP version your casino is serving against the in-game info screen.
Brand recognition Cleopatra, Wheel of Fortune, Da Vinci Diamonds and Megabucks are among the most-recognised slot brands globally. We weight brand heritage alongside game quality.
Land-based heritage fidelity Most IGT online slots are direct ports of physical casino machines. We rate how well the original feel translates to the online version.
Jackpot eligibility IGT’s Megabucks network and various standalone progressive jackpots remain key parts of the catalogue. Jackpot-eligible titles are flagged separately.
UK availability IGT distributes through its PlayDigital division. We confirm availability at multiple UKGC-licensed casinos.
Mobile experience IGT’s older land-based ports vary in mobile UX quality. We test on iOS and Android and flag titles that don’t translate well to portrait orientation.
About

About IGT

International Game Technology was founded in 1975 in Reno, Nevada as Sircoma (Si Redd’s Coin Machines), founded by William “Si” Redd. The company rebranded to IGT in 1981 and grew through the 1980s and 1990s to become one of the largest slot manufacturers in physical casino history. By the early 2000s IGT was producing the vast majority of slot machines in Nevada casinos, and the Wheel of Fortune slot franchise had become one of the most-played casino games in the United States.

The Megabucks era

IGT’s most consequential commercial product is Megabucks — a network progressive jackpot deployed across IGT slot machines in Nevada casinos. Megabucks launched in 1986 and has produced multiple multi-million-dollar payouts. The largest single slot win in casino history happened on Megabucks in 2003: a 25-year-old software engineer playing at the Excalibur Las Vegas won $39.7 million on a $100 bet. The record stood for two decades and remains the largest physical-casino slot win ever recorded.

The GTECH merger (2015)

IGT was acquired by GTECH, the Italian gambling-technology conglomerate, in 2015 for approximately $6.4 billion. The merged company kept the IGT name and reorganised into three divisions: Global Gaming (slot machines and casino games), Global Lottery (lottery technology), and PlayDigital (online gambling content including the online slot library). The merged IGT now trades publicly on the NYSE under ticker IGT.

The 2024–2025 corporate split

In 2024 IGT announced plans to separate its Global Gaming and Lottery divisions from the broader business. The split is intended to create two focused companies: the gaming business (slot manufacturing, online slots, PlayDigital) operating under IGT, and the lottery business operating separately. As of 2026 the corporate restructure is well underway with the gaming side continuing to ship online slots through PlayDigital.

The UK online position

For UK online players, IGT’s identity is primarily a heritage brand — the studio’s online catalogue is largely composed of digital ports of physical casino classics. Cleopatra (2003), Da Vinci Diamonds (2012), Wheel of Fortune (multiple variants) and Siberian Storm (2012) are all available at UK casinos in HTML5 form. The release cadence of new online-native IGT slots is slower than modern competitors like Pragmatic Play or Hacksaw Gaming.

Top 10

The 10 best IGT slots in 2026

Ranked by RTP, brand recognition, jackpot eligibility and UK availability. IGT’s catalogue is heritage-led — many of these slots are direct online ports of land-based casino classics.

1. Cleopatra

Stat Detail
RTP 95.02%
Volatility Medium
Max win 10,000x (in free spins)
Original release 2003 (land-based)
Standout feature Egyptian-theme expanding-symbol free-spins bonus — predates Book of Dead by 13 years

The Egyptian-theme slot that defined the genre years before Book of Dead arrived. Cleopatra’s free-spins bonus — with a 3x multiplier on all wins — was groundbreaking in 2003 and remains a benchmark for the Egyptian-theme category. The slot is still the most-played IGT title in UK online casinos.

2. Siberian Storm

Stat Detail
RTP 96.00%
Volatility Medium-high
Max win 4,096x
Mechanic MultiWay Xtra — up to 720 ways to win
Original release 2012

The highest-RTP slot in IGT’s UK online catalogue at 96.00%. White-tiger theme with the MultiWay Xtra mechanic (IGT’s answer to All-Ways and Megaways) giving up to 720 ways to win across the grid. One of the few IGT titles where the online maths matches modern industry standards.

3. Da Vinci Diamonds

Stat Detail
RTP 94.94%
Volatility Medium
Max win 5,000x
Original release 2012
Standout feature Tumbling Reels (early implementation of cascading-reels mechanic)

One of the earliest mainstream slots to use cascading reels — IGT called the mechanic Tumbling Reels and deployed it in Da Vinci Diamonds in 2012, contemporary with NetEnt’s Avalanche feature in Gonzo’s Quest. Renaissance art theme; the multi-line bonus structure has been imitated across the industry.

4. Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin

Stat Detail
RTP 96.00%
Volatility Medium
Max win 50,000x (Mini, Major, Mega jackpot tiers)
Standout feature Triple-wheel bonus with multipliers and tiered jackpots

One of multiple Wheel of Fortune online variants. The Triple Extreme Spin version uses three concentric wheels with multipliers and three jackpot tiers. The Wheel of Fortune brand is the most-recognised slot franchise in IGT’s catalogue; numerous variants exist (On Tour, Triple Action Frenzy, Hawaiian Getaway etc.).

5. Treasures of Troy

Stat Detail
RTP 95.66%
Volatility Medium
Max win 1,000x
Standout feature MultiWay Xtra mechanic with up to 1,024 ways

Greek-mythology themed IGT slot using the MultiWay Xtra format. Higher RTP than most IGT titles (95.66%) but more modest max win. Bonus round includes free spins with a Treasure Pick feature for additional multipliers.

6. Texas Tea

Stat Detail
RTP 95.51%
Volatility Medium
Max win 10,000x
Original release 2002 (land-based)

The Texan-oil-tycoon-themed slot that ran on physical IGT machines throughout the 2000s. Five-reel, 9-payline classic format with a Tea For You bonus round. Dated but recognisable to UK players who’ve seen it in physical casinos.

7. White Orchid

Stat Detail
RTP 95.03%
Volatility Medium
Max win 2,500x
Mechanic MultiWay Xtra (up to 1,024 ways)

Floral-themed IGT slot with the MultiWay Xtra mechanic. Available in UK casinos in both standalone and progressive-jackpot variants. Mid-range IGT title that suits casual sessions.

8. Pixies of the Forest

Stat Detail
RTP 94.83%
Volatility Medium
Max win 500x
Standout feature Tumbling Reels (cascading wins)

Fantasy-pixie themed slot using IGT’s Tumbling Reels mechanic. Lower RTP than the modern competitor average (94.83%) but the cascading-wins structure adds session length on a small bankroll.

9. Lobstermania

Stat Detail
RTP 94.92%
Volatility Medium
Max win 2,500x
Standout feature Lobster-pick bonus with Buoy Bonus and Free Spins paths

The Maine-lobster-themed IGT slot from the mid-2010s. Cartoon aesthetic with a two-path bonus structure (Buoy Bonus for cash multipliers or Free Spins). Lower RTP than IGT’s headline titles but distinctive visually within the catalogue.

10. Pharaoh’s Fortune

Stat Detail
RTP 94.78%
Volatility Medium
Max win 10,000x
Standout feature Egyptian theme with sticky-wild bonus mechanic

IGT’s secondary Egyptian-theme title behind Cleopatra. Lower RTP (94.78%) than the Cleopatra original, but the sticky-wild bonus mechanic with progressive multipliers gives the free-spins round a distinctive feel.

Highest RTP

Highest-RTP IGT slots

IGT’s online catalogue runs lower RTP than modern online-native studios — most titles cluster between 93.5% and 96.0%, reflecting the land-based heritage where lower RTPs were standard. The studio’s highest published RTPs in the UK market:

Slot RTP Volatility Notable feature
Siberian Storm 96.00% Medium-high MultiWay Xtra (720 ways)
Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin 96.00% Medium Triple-wheel bonus
Treasures of Troy 95.66% Medium MultiWay Xtra (1,024 ways)
Texas Tea 95.51% Medium Land-based classic
White Orchid 95.03% Medium MultiWay Xtra
Cleopatra 95.02% Medium Original Egyptian-theme classic
Da Vinci Diamonds 94.94% Medium Tumbling Reels mechanic
Lobstermania 94.92% Medium Lobster-pick bonus
Pixies of the Forest 94.83% Medium Tumbling Reels
Pharaoh’s Fortune 94.78% Medium Sticky-wild bonus

For pure expected-value play, Siberian Storm and Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin at 96.00% are the strongest IGT picks — though both still sit below the modern industry standard of 96%+. Players who prioritise RTP should consider NetEnt (Mega Joker at 99%, Blood Suckers at 98%) or Relax Gaming (Book of 99 at 99%) where the elite-RTP options sit comfortably above anything in IGT’s catalogue. See our high RTP slots guide for the broader picture.

Pros and cons of playing IGT slots

IGT is the heritage-brand slot studio in the UK online market — instantly recognisable IPs, but generally lower RTPs and slower modern release cadence than online-native competitors. Here’s an honest balance.

pros-icon

Pros

  • Instantly recognisable franchises — Cleopatra, Wheel of Fortune, Da Vinci Diamonds and Megabucks are among the most-played slot brands in casino history.
  • Megabucks jackpot heritage — the network holds the record for the largest physical-casino slot payout ($39.7m in 2003) and remains a recognised name for jackpot hunters.
  • Mechanic invention — MultiWay Xtra and Tumbling Reels predated several mechanics that competitors later popularised. IGT was an innovator in physical casino slot design.
  • Strong UK availability — IGT distributes through the PlayDigital division and is stocked at most major UKGC-licensed casinos including Sky Vegas, William Hill and Bet365.
const-icon

Cons

  • Lower RTPs than modern competitors — most IGT online slots cluster between 93.5% and 96.0%, well below the 98%+ outliers at NetEnt and Relax Gaming.
  • Mechanically dated catalogue — many of IGT's online slots are direct ports of physical casino machines from the 2000s and early 2010s. Players wanting modern mechanics like Megaways or Cluster Pays will find IGT's catalogue limited.
  • Slower release cadence — IGT ships fewer new online-native titles per year than competitors like Pragmatic Play or Hacksaw Gaming. Catalogue depth is heritage-driven rather than fresh.
  • Limited Megabucks online — the headline Megabucks jackpot remains primarily a land-based Nevada product. UK online players have much more limited access to Megabucks network jackpots than US physical-casino visitors.

The Megabucks jackpot network — IGT’s defining commercial product

Megabucks is IGT’s network progressive jackpot, launched in 1986 and deployed across IGT slot machines in Nevada casinos and (in limited form) online. It’s the most consequential single product in IGT’s history and one of the most consequential in casino history overall.

The 2003 record — $39.7 million

On 21 March 2003, a 25-year-old software engineer at the Excalibur Las Vegas placed a $100 bet on a Megabucks machine and won $39,710,826 — the largest single slot payout in casino history. The record stood for over two decades and remains unbroken in physical casino slot history. Other Megabucks wins have approached but not surpassed it, including $34.9 million at Caesars Palace in 2000 and multiple $20m+ wins over the network’s lifetime.

Megabucks online vs land-based

Megabucks remains primarily a land-based product. IGT operates limited online Megabucks-network slots, but the headline jackpots and the bulk of network activity continue to come from physical Nevada casinos. UK online players have more limited Megabucks access than US physical-casino visitors.

IGT’s other UK-available jackpot slots

Beyond Megabucks, IGT operates several standalone progressive jackpot slots available at UK online casinos:

  • White Orchid Progressive — standalone progressive layered on the White Orchid base slot
  • Wheel of Fortune Megajackpots — IGT’s network jackpot connecting multiple Wheel of Fortune variants
  • Cluedo Spinning Detectives — jackpot variant of the Cluedo-themed IGT slot
  • Various standalone Cleopatra and Wheel of Fortune jackpot editions

For broader UK jackpot context — including Microgaming’s Mega Moolah and Playtech’s Age of the Gods networks — see our jackpot slots guide.

IGT’s signature mechanics

IGT doesn’t license the Megaways engine (despite some older articles suggesting otherwise) — the studio runs its own proprietary mechanics that predate or parallel Megaways in slot history. The recurring IGT signatures:

MultiWay Xtra

IGT’s “ways to win” mechanic, used in Siberian Storm (720 ways), Treasures of Troy (1,024 ways), White Orchid (1,024 ways) and other recent IGT titles. MultiWay Xtra pays for matching symbols on consecutive reels regardless of position (similar to Microgaming’s 243 Ways or NetEnt’s All-Ways), but with stacked symbols that can multiply the ways count. Pre-dates Megaways but offers fewer maximum ways (Megaways tops out at 248,832).

Tumbling Reels

IGT’s cascading-reels mechanic, deployed in Da Vinci Diamonds (2012) and Pixies of the Forest. Winning symbols disappear and new ones drop in for chained wins. Contemporary with NetEnt’s Avalanche feature in Gonzo’s Quest (2010); both studios independently developed similar mechanics around the same time.

Wheel of Fortune bonus mechanics

The Wheel of Fortune slot franchise uses a recurring bonus structure: a wheel-spin bonus mode triggered by scatter symbols, with the wheel landing on cash multipliers or jackpot tiers. Multiple Wheel of Fortune online variants exist (Triple Extreme Spin, On Tour, Hawaiian Getaway, Triple Action Frenzy etc.) each with slight wheel variants. The format is the most-recognised bonus mechanic in IGT’s catalogue thanks to the franchise’s US-TV-show association.

Megabucks-style network progressives

IGT operates network progressive jackpot slots in both land-based (Megabucks) and online forms. The maths and bonus-wheel structure differs from competitor network jackpots like Microgaming’s Mega Moolah but the core concept is similar — a shared prize pool grows through wagers until one lucky trigger pays out the network jackpot.

What IGT doesn’t have

For clarity: IGT slots do not use the Megaways engine (which is BTG’s licensed mechanic), the Cluster Pays mechanic (NetEnt’s signature), or the Tumble mechanic at the scale Pragmatic Play deploys it. IGT’s mechanic identity is distinct from these — built on physical-casino heritage rather than online-native invention.

What is Next for IGT?

ICE London 2023 was the best PlayDigital IGT show yet, and the booth was constantly packed with visitors eager to find out more about the latest releases and updates. IGT showcased several upcoming slots built on themes favoured by players, including Cool Catch, Ice Heist, Crabbin’ Crazy 2, Cleopatra Grand, and the Olympus series.

Cleopatra Grand was released early in 2023, and introduces the Egyptian Queen at her best as she leads the way to six fixed jackpots including the mini paying 3x, minor 5x, maxi 10x, major 30x, super 1,000x and the grand 4,000x. The 25 paylines expand to 50 paylines during the free spins bonus and carries a 2x multiplier, which increases every time the third reel spin in an upward direction. IGT successfully manages to recreate the magic that ensured Cleopatra MegaJackpots and Cleopatra II. The latest instalment of the series offers more modern play and with the re-spin mechanics, this release could be the biggest slot yet.

Cool Catch was produced in HTML5 and showcases how simplicity works well across all devices, especially on smaller screens in both landscape and portrait modes. The new release surprises with three bonus features, including the cash link deluxe bonus wheel, cash link deluxe feature and four jackpots. Players can catch up to 200 free spins and add up to 1,000x and this slot could have what it takes to keep players captivated for hours, hook, line and sinker.

Ice Heist introduces a couple of diamond thieves planning the heist of 2023 across five reels. During the free spins bonus round, it is possible to enjoy a total of up to 225 free spins, while the diamond accumulator feature upgrades the slot machine to a wild winning frenzy by transforming the female and male thieves into wilds as well as the security and banker symbols on reels two through to reel five. With max wins of up to 1,000x, Ice Heist encourages players to steal more with every spin.

Where To Play

Where to play IGT slots in the UK

IGT distributes through its PlayDigital division to most major UKGC-licensed casinos. The catalogue is broadly available, though depth varies. A few sites stand out for IGT players specifically:

  • Sky Vegas — one of the deepest IGT libraries in the UK including the Wheel of Fortune Megajackpots network, Cluedo Spinning Detectives, and multiple Cleopatra variants.
  • William Hill Casino — long-running IGT partner with strong Cleopatra and Wheel of Fortune availability. Particularly good for UK players who want the heritage IGT catalogue at a recognised UK brand.
  • Bet365 Casino — comprehensive IGT selection with industry-leading PayPal withdrawal speeds.
  • BetMGM Casino — carries the IGT catalogue with the casino’s RTP transparency policy, useful for verifying you’re playing the highest available RTP version of each IGT title.
  • Ladbrokes Casino — sister site to Coral with similar IGT depth via Ladbrokes’ Playtech / IGT platform integration.

Bonus eligibility for IGT slots

Most UK casinos accept IGT slots for welcome-bonus play, though Megabucks-network jackpot slots are sometimes excluded from bonus wagering due to their lower base RTP. Standard IGT titles (Cleopatra, Da Vinci Diamonds, Siberian Storm) are universally eligible.

Mobile and UK availability

Every IGT slot listed on this page is HTML5-native and runs on iOS and Android browsers. The older land-based ports (Cleopatra, Texas Tea, Lobstermania) have been retrofitted to mobile but the UX is functional rather than polished — the originals were designed for physical casino cabinets, not portrait-orientation phones. Newer IGT online-native titles run more cleanly on mobile.

IGT versus Others

IGT versus Microgaming

The two heritage giants of the UK slot industry. Microgaming launched online in 1994 and pioneered online slot software; IGT (founded 1975) pre-dates Microgaming but built its early business on physical casino machines, only moving heavily online in the 2000s. Both studios have transitioned their physical heritage to online with mixed results — Microgaming’s Mega Moolah jackpot network dominates UK online jackpot play, while IGT’s Megabucks remains primarily a land-based Nevada product.

For UK online players the practical difference: Microgaming has the more aggressive online presence (frequent new releases via Games Global), bigger jackpot pools and stronger UK casino integration. IGT has more recognisable individual slot franchises (Cleopatra, Wheel of Fortune) and stronger physical-casino heritage. Both providers stocked at most major UK casinos.

IGT versus Playtech

Playtech sits closest to IGT on the “established slot industry brand” axis — both run major jackpot networks (Playtech’s Age of the Gods, IGT’s Megabucks / Wheel of Fortune Megajackpots), both have heritage catalogues with long-running titles, both serve operator integrations beyond pure slot supply.

The practical differences: Playtech has the stronger online-native catalogue and the more active Age of the Gods jackpot network (which has paid out over £500m lifetime). IGT has the stronger US physical-casino heritage and the more iconic individual slot franchises. For UK online players, Playtech’s online-native pivot has produced more recent commercial success than IGT’s heritage-port approach.

IGT versus NetEnt

An informative contrast on RTP. NetEnt‘s catalogue includes elite-RTP titles like Mega Joker (99% in Super Meter mode) and Blood Suckers (98%) — significantly above IGT’s catalogue ceiling of 96.0% (Siberian Storm, Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin).

The practical difference: for pure expected-value play, NetEnt’s elite-RTP titles materially beat anything in IGT’s catalogue. IGT compensates with heritage-brand recognition (Cleopatra, Wheel of Fortune) and physical-casino-to-online IP transfer. Players choosing between the two should pick by what matters most — recognisable brand vs RTP value. Most UK players keep both providers in occasional rotation.

Responsible gambling

Responsible gambling

IGT slots typically run lower RTP than modern online-native studios — the casino always wins on average, and the difference is how slowly. On a 94% RTP slot you’ll lose roughly £6 per £100 wagered over the long run; on a modern 96% slot you’d lose roughly £4. The compounding effect matters across regular play. Set a budget before you start, never chase losses, and only gamble with money you can afford to lose.

All UK-licensed casinos are required by the UK Gambling Commission to offer a range of tools to help you stay in control:

Deposit limits: set a daily, weekly or monthly cap so you can’t deposit more than you’ve decided to spend.

Loss limits and session limits: automatically log out or stop play after a set time or loss amount.

Reality checks: on-screen reminders showing how long you’ve been playing and how much you’ve spent or won.

Time-out and self-exclusion: short cooling-off periods, or — through GamStop — full self-exclusion from every UKGC-licensed casino in the UK simultaneously.

If your gambling stops being fun, free, confidential help is available 24/7 from BeGambleAware or the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133.

You must be 18 or over to gamble. Always check the full terms of any bonus before opting in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which IGT slot has the highest RTP?

Siberian Storm and Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin both run at 96.00% RTP — the highest in IGT’s UK online catalogue. The next tier (Treasures of Troy at 95.66%, Texas Tea at 95.51%) sits around 95.5–95.7%. IGT doesn’t have any elite 98%+ RTP titles — for those you’d need to look at NetEnt (Mega Joker, Blood Suckers) or Relax Gaming (Book of 99, Marching Legions).

What is Megabucks and can I play it in the UK?

Megabucks is IGT’s network progressive jackpot, launched in 1986 and primarily deployed in Nevada physical casinos. It produced the largest single slot payout in casino history — $39.7 million won at the Excalibur Las Vegas in 2003 by a 25-year-old software engineer on a $100 bet. Megabucks remains primarily a land-based product; UK online players have much more limited access than US physical-casino visitors. IGT’s UK online jackpot offering includes Wheel of Fortune Megajackpots and various standalone progressives instead.

When was IGT founded?

IGT was founded in 1975 in Reno, Nevada by William “Si” Redd, originally under the name Sircoma (Si Redd’s Coin Machines). The company rebranded to International Game Technology in 1981 and became one of the largest slot manufacturers in physical casino history. In 2015 IGT merged with the Italian gambling-technology conglomerate GTECH in a deal worth approximately $6.4 billion; the merged company kept the IGT name and trades publicly on the NYSE.

Does IGT make Megaways slots?

No. IGT doesn’t license the Megaways engine from Big Time Gaming. The studio runs its own proprietary mechanics — MultiWay Xtra (up to 1,024 ways), Tumbling Reels (cascading wins), and the Wheel of Fortune bonus-wheel format — which serve similar purposes to Megaways but are mechanically distinct. For Megaways slots specifically, look at Big Time Gaming, NetEnt, Pragmatic Play or Blueprint Gaming.

What's the most popular IGT slot at UK casinos?

Cleopatra (2003 original) remains the most-played IGT title in UK online casinos. The Egyptian-theme classic predates Book of Dead by 13 years and defined the genre. Da Vinci Diamonds, Siberian Storm and the various Wheel of Fortune online variants are next-most-played. The Wheel of Fortune franchise overall is IGT’s biggest brand globally; in UK online specifically, Cleopatra leads.

Why are IGT RTPs lower than other studios?

Most IGT online slots are direct ports of physical casino machines, and physical casino slots traditionally run lower RTPs than online-native slots. Land-based casino machines typically run 88–93% RTP; online-native slots have settled around 96% as the industry standard. When IGT ports a Cleopatra (originally a physical-casino slot from 2003) to online, the RTP gets adjusted upward slightly but stays below the modern online-native standard. This is a structural feature of IGT’s heritage-led catalogue, not a recent change.

Are IGT slots available on mobile?

Yes. Every IGT slot listed in this guide is HTML5-native and runs on iOS and Android browsers without a dedicated app. Older land-based ports (Cleopatra, Texas Tea, Lobstermania) have been retrofitted to mobile but the UX shows their physical-casino origins — the originals were designed for vertical cabinets, not portrait-orientation phones. Newer online-native IGT titles run more cleanly on mobile devices.

Is IGT licensed in the UK?

Yes. IGT holds a UK Gambling Commission licence and its online games are independently audited by accredited testing labs to confirm fair and random outcomes. Every IGT slot served at a UKGC-licensed UK casino displays its RTP in the in-game info screen, as UKGC compliance requires. IGT’s PlayDigital division handles the UK online operations; the broader IGT corporate group operates multiple gambling-technology businesses globally under various jurisdictional licences.
