Donald Trump’s Blue Monster course at Doral hosts the new Cadillac Championship on the PGA Tour, which starts on Thursday and will be televised on Sky Sports Golf.
Cadilac Championship Betting Preview
It has been 10 years since the Blue Monster course in Florida has hosted a top-level four-day event, but the Cadillac Championship makes its bow as the fifth signature event on the PGA Tour in 2026.
The course gets its name from the amount of water that has to be negotiated, while it is more than 7,700 yards long, but length off the tee will not be enough to tame it as errant drives can easily end up in a watery grave.
Masters champion Rory McIlroy is missing, as is Matt Fitzpatrick, who has won three tournaments in five weeks, but world number one Scottie Scheffler is in attendance as is the short-priced favourite after finishing runner-up at Augusta and the RBC Heritage.
Tip 1: Collin Morikawa each-way @ 20/1 with bet365
While the course should play to Scheffler’s strengths, there looks like there is better value to be had in backing Collin Morikawa to come out on top at six times the price. The two-time Major winner was forced to withdraw from the Players Championship with a back injury, but any fears about his fitness were eased when he was seventh at the Masters and followed that with a fourth at the Heritage. His signature-event record is excellent – apart from his finish at Hilton Head, he won the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, was seventh at the Genesis Invitational and fifth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and he has the skills to put it in the right places and tame the Blue Monster.
Tip 2: Si Woo Kim each-way @ 28/1 with bet365
It is more than three years since Si woo Kim won the most recent of his four PGA Tour titles, but it could go close this week. The South Korean was third last time out at the Heritage, when he was two shots from reaching the play-off that featured Fitzpatrick and Scheffler and he is a top player when it comes to finding greens in regulation, which tends to be a key component of a Doral winner’s armoury. His second in the Farmers Insurance Open and third at the Phoenix Open should also give him confidence that he can feature prominently in a stellar field.
Tip 3: Adam Scott each-way @ 33/1 with bet365
There will be few players with more experience of Doral in this week’s field than Adam Scott, with him having won the WGC-Cadillac Championship in 2016 at this venue and that knowledge and success should aid the Australian’s chances. The former Masters champion can boast four other top-ten finishes at the Florida track, but it is not just ancient golf history that looks to be on his side. He was fourth in the Genesis, 11th in the Arnold Palmer and his 24th at Augusta was respectable, so it would not be a surprise if he forced his way into the places.
