NFL Week Three Betting Preview

The NFL season is only in its infancy but already the division tables are starting to take shape as we head into Week Three. UK viewers can catch the action on Sky Sports NFL, with RedZone available via NFL Game Pass. The first game begins at 1:15am BST on Friday morning, with an all-AFC East affair between the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins at Highmark Stadium. 

There are 12 games to look forward to on Sunday, while Super Bowl contenders the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens must wait until Monday and Tuesday before they get a taste of Week Three action.

Game 1 – Philadelphia Eagles vs Los Angeles Rams (Sunday 6pm BST)

There are just two head-to-heads between teams with a 2-0 record this weekend and one of those games takes place at Lincoln Financial Field, as the Philadelphia Eagles host the Los Angeles Rams. Reigning champions Philly have not hit top gear but they have still managed wins over the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs in the opening couple of weeks.

The Rams have also hit the ground running, overcoming both the Houston Texans and the Tennessee Titans. Meeting in the playoffs last season, the Eagles earned a 28-22 win at the Linc, and quarterback Jalen Hurts and company look capable of edging out another victory while covering the spread in South Philly on Sunday.

Tip 1: Philadelphia Eagles -3.5 @ 20/21

Game 2 –  San Francisco 49ers vs Arizona Cardinals (Sunday 9.25pm BST)

The other battle between two 2-0 teams also takes place on Sunday, with the San Francisco 49ers hosting the Arizona Cardinals. Considering the 49ers have been dealing with injuries at this early stage of the season, they have battled effectively to wins over the Seattle Seahawks and the New Orleans Saints on the road.

Back in the home comforts of Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Kyle Shanahan’s side can look forward to welcoming the Cardinals this weekend. Arizona have also beaten New Orleans on the road before seeing off the Carolina Panthers at State Farm Stadium in Week Two. Former New York Jets head coach Robert Salah seems to be making progress with the 49ers defence and, with home advantage, San Fran are backed to cover the spread to go 3-0.

Tip 2: San Francisco 49ers -1.5 @ 10/11

Game 3 –  New York Giants vs Kansas City Chiefs (Monday 1.20am BST)

In contrast to the other two games, the New York Giants and the Kansas City Chiefs head into Week Three with 0-2 records and still seeking that elusive first win. The Chiefs, who suffered a 27-21 defeat in their opener against the LA Chargers in Brazil, squandered opportunities to lose their Super Bowl rematch 20-17 against the Eagles last weekend.

With Andy Reid’s side looking to take their frustrations out on a team, it’s the struggling Giants who might well feel the backlash on Monday morning at MetLife Stadium. Conceding 61 points in their opening two defeats to NFC East rivals Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys, this Giants defence is giving up too many points to keep this one close against last year’s Super Bowl runners-up, Kansas City.

Tip 3: Kansas City Chiefs -6 @ 20/23
