NFL Week Two Preview

After the thrills and spills of the opening round of fixtures from the new NFL campaign, all eyes are on Week Two’s action from across the United States. UK viewers can catch the action on Sky Sports NFL, with RedZone available via NFL Game Pass. 

The first game begins at 1:15am BST on Friday morning, with the Green Bay Packers hosting the Washington Commanders at Lambeau Field. There are no less than 12 games to take in on Sunday, one creeping into the small hours of Monday morning, before two Tuesday games to cap off what should be a thrilling second week in the NFL.

Game 1 – Kansas City Chiefs vs Philadelphia Eagles (Sunday 9.25pm BST)

In the pick of the Week Two games, there’s a repeat of last season’s Super Bowl as the Philadelphia Eagles head to Arrowhead Stadium to face the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The Eagles got their new campaign up and running with a 24-20 win over NFC East rivals Dallas Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field last week, while the Chiefs made a losing start with a 27-21 defeat at the hands of the Chargers in Brazil.

Philadelphia blew away Kansas City at Super Bowl LIX, winning 40-22 thanks to an accomplished performance from quarterback Jalen Hurts. Another showdown between Hurts and Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes makes this a must-see contest, while running back Saquon Barkley will once again be a threat on the ground. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni oversaw a dismantling of this great Chiefs side at the last Super Bowl in New Orleans and Philly are good value for another win on Sunday.

Game 2 – Green Bay Packers vs Washington Commanders (Friday 1.15am BST)

Looking for their first win at Lambeau Field since 1988, the Washington Commanders are capable of ending that wait for victory at the Green Bay Packers this week.

The Commanders have made great strides since the arrival of quarterback Jayden Daniels, who guided Washington to the NFC Championship game last season, only to be beaten by the Eagles.

Washington, who beat Green Bay 23-21 in their last meeting in 2022, have won three of their last five encounters with the Packers and, after a strong offensive performance in victory over the New York Giants in Week One, the Commanders are well priced to be victorious at Lambeau Field.

Game 3 – Detroit Lions vs Chicago Bears (Sunday 6pm BST)

Two sides looking to bounce back after opening day defeats, the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears battle it out for bragging rights when they face off in an all-NFC North affair on Sunday.

The Lions came off second best at Lambeau Field in a 27-13 defeat at the hands of rivals Green Bay in Week One and will be happy to be back in the home comforts of Ford Field.

Winning five of their last six games against the Bears, who have not won in Detroit since 2021, the Lions are backed to not only win on Sunday but cover the handicap against Chicago in the process.
