In what could be a preview of the NFC Championship game, two of the conference’s biggest hitters face off as the Detroit Lions visit the Philadelphia Eagles in arguably the standout encounter of Week 11 of the NFL season. The Eagles are 7-2 and go into the clash on the back of a three-game winning streak after grinding out a 10-7 success over the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. The Lions, on the other hand, blew out the Washington Commanders on Sunday to take their record for the season to 6-3.
Philadelphia Eagles vs Detroit Lions Betting Preview
Tip 1: Under 46.5 Total Points @ 10/11
The Detroit Lions are known for playing their part in high-scoring games but it may be something a little bit different when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are the only NFC team the Lions have failed to beat under head coach Dan Campbell and they will be desperate to get a positive result against one of their major conference rivals. The Lions racked up 44 points against the Washington Commanders last week, but they have been involved in some low-scoring games against good teams, most notably a 27-13 defeat to the Green Bay Packers and a 24-9 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
They face a Philadelphia team who allowed just seven points against the Packers last time out but couldn’t get a lot going for themselves, racking up just ten points. The Eagles upgraded on defense at the trade deadline, picking up edge-rusher Jaelan Phillips and cornerbacks Michael Carter II and Jaire Alexander. That could make a big difference as they look to slow down what can at times be a relentless Lions team. Both teams may cancel each other out to a certain extent and, as a result, going under the points total of 46.5 in what could be a cagey affair may be prudent.
Tip 2: Jameson Williams anytime touchdown scorer @ 23/10
Head coach Dan Campbell has taken over the Detroit Lions’ playcalling after struggles of offensive coordinator John Morton and one big beneficiary has been Jameson Williams. The wide receiver has burst into life in the last few weeks, registering touchdowns in three of his last four games, and he should follow up his 119 receiving yards against the Washington Commanders with another impressive performance.
Tip 3: Jalen Hurts under 33.5 rushing yards @ 10/11
Jalen Hurts burst onto the scene as a true dual-threat quarterback but he is on record for the lowest rushing numbers of his career this season. The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback has 63 carries for 234 yards in nine games and has been even less keen to keep the ball himself in recent games. Hurts’ last five rushing totals are 27, 22, -10, 13 and 3. He has gone over 33.5 rushing yards in only three of his nine games and that run may continue.
