Premier League Gameweek 10 Betting Preview

Premier League Gameweek 10 Betting Preview

Another batch of intriguing Premier League fixtures is slated for this weekend, as we move ever closer to the season’s third international break. Saturday’s two headline ties have both been selected for television coverage, and are consequently both evening kick-offs. Tottenham host Chelsea at teatime in a mouthwatering London derby, as Thomas Frank’s men seek to bounce back following Wednesday’s EFL Cup elimination. Attention will then turn to Anfield, where struggling Liverpool will aim to avoid a fifth consecutive Premier League loss when they take on Aston Villa.

Ahead of those two matches, Brighton entertain Leeds at the AMEX, Brentford travel across the capital to face Crystal Palace, league leaders Arsenal lock horns with Burnley in Lancashire, Fulham and Wolves meet in a bottom-of-the-table contest, and Sean Dyche aims to register his first Premier League win as Nottingham Forest boss against a resurgent Manchester United.

The pick of Sunday’s two matches sees second-placed Bournemouth take on in-form Manchester City at the Etihad. The Cherries haven’t lost since August’s EFL Cup defeat to Brentford, while Pep Guardiola’s men would have also managed to navigate through September and October unbeaten had it not been for last weekend’s disappointing performance at Villa Park. West Ham and Newcastle United clash is the day’s other fixture, before high-flying Sunderland attempt to make Everton their latest victims on Monday night.

Goals Galore in North London

Before the midweek loss at St. James’ Park, Tottenham had only lost in one of their last ten outings across all competitions. Meanwhile, injury-ravaged Chelsea have struggled for consistency of late, experiencing three Premier League defeats in quick succession amidst a couple of positive results in Europe. Although it’s difficult to call the outcome of this one, we can surely expect goals on Saturday evening.

Only Manchester City can claim to have scored as many Premier League goals as Spurs and Chelsea this term, with all three sides finding the net on 17 occasions. There have been three or more goals in six of the North Londoners’ opening nine league fixtures, while there has been plenty of action in the final third in all four of Chelsea’s away encounters.

Villa to pile further misery on Liverpool

It seems Liverpool’s ongoing crisis is yet to reach its nadir, after the Reds were dumped out of the EFL Cup on Wednesday night following a third defeat to Crystal Palace in the space of three months. Aside from last week’s emphatic victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League, Arne Slot’s men have looked a shadow of their former selves since returning from September’s international break.

Aston Villa have now recovered from an underwhelming start to the campaign, taking maximum points in each of their last four Premier League clashes, with last week’s home win over Man City particularly impressive. Given their current momentum and Liverpool’s dreadful form, the Villans will be confident of taking at least a share of the spoils at Anfield.

Tip 2: Draw or Aston Villa (Double Chance) @ 19/5 with Skybet

Eli Kroupi could make another decisive impact

Having netted in each of his last three league appearances, Bournemouth’s Eli Kroupi will be desperate to extend his goalscoring purple patch against Manchester City. The talented France Under-21 international grabbed an injury-time equaliser at Elland Road in late September, before claiming his team’s opening two goals in Bournemouth’s thrilling draw with Crystal Palace.

The most recent strike in this impressive sequence came during last weekend’s triumph over Nottingham Forest, which enabled the Cherries to climb even further up the table. Only three teenagers in Premier League history have scored in four consecutive games – could Eli Kroupi become the fourth?
