2022 MLB World Series Odds  – Latest Developments on Odds & Favorites:

  • August 2: The New York Yankees have struggled lately and have seen their World Series odds dip back behind the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Houston Astros are really surging and are the clear-cut third-favorite as the season hits its stretch run. The New York Mets are holding steady, while the San Diego Padres’ World Series odds are pushing upward after the trade deadline acquisitions of Juan Soto, Josh Hader and others.
  • July 19: The New York Yankees continue to rise, as they now have a 23.2% chance to win the World Series, according to our consensus odds tracker. The Los Angeles Dodgers remain with the second-best odds, and have seen their odds raise to a season-best 21.6% chance to win. The Houston Astros are also surging and sit with the third-best odds, followed by the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves. The Toronto Blue Jays and San Diego Padres, meanwhile, have fallen off the pace.
  • July 4: The New York Yankees’ stellar season continues, and that excellence has paid off. The Yankees are the new favorites to win the World Series championship, surpassing the Los Angeles Dodgers. L.A. has been very good this season but the Yankees have been on another level, far ahead of everyone for the best record in the majors. The Houston Astros have the third-best odds to win the World Series, followed by the New York Mets.
  • June 20: The Los Angeles Dodgers are still the team to beat in Major League Baseball, but now they’ve got some company. The New York Yankees are surging and have shot up close to Los Angeles in World Series odds. These are the two clear favorites at this point, followed by the Houston Astros and the New York Mets. The Toronto Blue Jays have seen their odds take a dive, as have the Milwaukee Brewers. The San Diego Padres are steadily ascending and are a team to watch as the season moves along.
  • June 7: The Los Angeles Dodgers continue to chug along as the team to beat, and have even increased their World Series odds after a fast start to the season. The National League West is tough, but the Dodgers should be able to win it, which would help their championship path. The Toronto Blue Jays have played better of late and have seen their odds increase, while the New York Yankees are also playing good baseball. The New York Mets, Houston Astros and Milwaukee Brewers are right in the mix. One team that has taken a big tumble is the Los Angeles Angels, who fired manager Joe Maddon after losing 12 straight games.
  • May 10: The Los Angeles Dodgers are still the clear favorites, but the New York Mets’ hot start has pushed them up to second in World Series odds. The Toronto Blue Jays are third, while the other New York team, the Yankees, has also made a nice push and is close behind with the fourth-best odds. The Milwaukee Brewers are another team that is gaining, while slow starts have dropped the Chicago White Sox and Atlanta Braves’ chances. The Los Angeles Angels don’t have great title odds yet, but their hot start has them pulling ahead of several other teams in the middle of the pack.
  • April 25: The Los Angeles Dodgers remain the early-season championship favorite and they are off to a strong start. The team that has made the biggest early-season move is the New York Mets, who have jumped up to the third-best odds to win the World Series, behind only the Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays. The Houston Astros have seen a slight dip in their title odds after a slower-than-expected start, but are still right there with the fourth-best odds. It’s still early so there hasn’t been a ton of movement, but that will change as the season hits full tilt.
  • March 15: Now that the MLB lockout is over, it’s time to look at the baseball betting odds. The Los Angeles Dodgers are the preseason favorites to win the World Series in 2022. The Dodgers were the favorites last year, and while they ended up falling short, an ultra-talented roster returns. The Houston Astros have the second-best odds after making the World Series a year ago. The Toronto Blue Jays are third, followed by the Chicago White Sox and the re-tooled New York Mets. The Atlanta Braves are the defending champions and have the eighth-best odds. Major player movement is still to come, which could shift the odds in the coming days.

About the data

We monitor trends in odds on key markets of interest by tracking a range of US and international bookmakers. The update frequency varies, but is clearly shown on all our tables and charts. After fetching odds direct from bookies, we convert them to implied probability to make them easier to manage (read more on implied probability and converting from fractional to % probability). We then take the mean average implied probability to get a consensus view across the betting industry. This average implied probability is what we show on our charts and tables.
