Caesars to roll out sports betting in Arizona

Caesars will now be able to roll out sports betting in Arizona after partnering with the Diamondbacks in Major League Baseball (MLB). 

The Diamondbacks deal was part of Caesars’ MLB partnership, for which the company will now become one of the league’s authorised operators. 

Caesars will launch its mobile sports betting app throughout the Grand Canyon State, in addition to a few land-based offerings.

Through the partnership with the Diamondbacks, Caesars will be both an exclusive sportsbook and daily fantasy operator for the franchise. The operator will feature on signage around Chase Field, along with on various other assets. 

Commenting on the deal, Diamondbacks President and Chief Executive Derrick Hall said: “We went through a thorough process to identify the ideal partner that would bring experience and the strongest of reputations in legalized gaming.

“Equally important, we went through our strong due diligence to find the industry leader in the education and execution of responsible gaming.”

Moving fast

Caesars will join FanDuel, Kindred Group and DraftKings in Arizona after sports betting became regulated last month. Through state legislation, in-person wagering is allowed at either sites owned by major league teams or tribal casinos. 

The operator has a casino presence in the state, thanks to its partnership with Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino. 

Caesars Chief Executive Tim Reeg said the following about the new Diamondbacks partnership and rolling out sports betting in the state.
