DraftKings partners with Pepsi for free prediction game

DraftKings has struck another partnership, this time with Pepsi.

On Tuesday, the daily fantasy provider turned sports betting operator, DraftKings announced a partnership with Pepsi for a new free football prediction game.

Although the announcement was made on Tuesday, the new game had already been live for some time.

What’s covered in the deal?

With this deal, DraftKings and Pepsi have come together to create the Pepsi Live Prediction Challenge, a new free sports prediction game.

Each week, players will be required to answer a series of eight, multiple-choice questions relating to Sunday’s professional football games. By answering the questions players will be able to build up points for a chance of winning a share of $5,000 and work their way up the leaderboard. On top of weekly cash prizes, whoever finishes in first place on the leaderboard will win a trip to the upcoming Super Bowl game in Miami Gardens, Florida.

The game can be found on the DraftKings Sportsbook desktop site and mobile app.

Ezra Kucharz, chief business officer at DraftKings, said: “The Pepsi brand and its longstanding synergy with pro football hardly needs an introduction, making this partnership such a special opportunity for DraftKings to team up with an organization that genuinely shares our passion for the game.

“Our player community cannot get enough football and collaborating to launch the Pepsi Live Prediction Challenge on DraftKings helps to both satiate this ever-growing demand and further stoke fans’ competitive flames through new innovation.”

Another deal for DraftKings

The deal between DraftKings and Pepsi comes just days after DraftKings became the official daily fantasy partner of the NFL last week.

As the NFL’s official daily fantasy partner, DraftKings will gain access to NFL branding across gaming and content platforms and exclusive NFL sponsorship opportunities in the daily fantasy space. The league will also work to integrate the DraftKings brand into content across the NFL’s media properties.

With these two deals, it will be interesting to see what DraftKings has planned for the Super Bowl.

Elsewhere in the gambling space, Flutter Entertainment, the owner of FanDuel, announced the acquisition of The Stars Group.
