Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has signed a letter of intent to launch sports betting at the Hard Rock Atlantic City casino in New Jersey.
If successful, GiG will be responsible for managing the physical sportsbook at the Hard Rock and launching the casino’s online and mobile sportsbook.
In a statement, GiG said it expects to “release the sportsbook in New Jersey in Q4 2018.”
However, the Hard Rock won’t be able to accept wagers until GiG receives a New Jersey sports betting license.
This agreement marks GiG’s entry into the US market and comes a week after securing a B2B sports betting license in the UK.
Under New Jersey’s sports betting regulations, each casino is only allowed to launch three online or mobile brands under a license.
At the moment, Hard Rock has two partnerships, one with BET365 and one with Kindred Group.
If this deal is successful, then Hard Rock will have all three of its brands and won’t be able to launch any more.
