DraftKings enters DFS and gaming partnership with XFL

The XFL, a new start-up football league has found a partner in DraftKings.

DraftKings and the XFL, a start-up American football league, have announced a partnership for daily fantasy sports and sports betting.

This news comes after the daily fantasy sports provider turned sports betting operator, DraftKings, announced it has hired Christine Thurmond as its director of responsible gambling.

What’s covered in the deal?

Under the deal, DraftKings will become an Official Daily Fantasy Partner and Authorised Gaming Operator of the XFL.

As an official daily fantasy partner and authorized gaming partner, DraftKings will be able to integrate the league’s marks, logos and player images into its gaming and fantasy sports platforms and marketing material.

Once the first XFL season kicks off on February 8, DraftKings customers in permitted states will be able to place bets on the leagues’ games and draft daily fantasy lineups.

Ezra Kucharz, the chief business officer at DraftKings, said: “The XFL is an innovative, fan-first league and DraftKings shares a mutual commitment to delivering a top-notch gaming experience to sports fans across the board. We are confident that through this collaborative partnership, our highly engaged customer base will enjoy betting on the XFL and playing in XFL Daily Fantasy Sports contests. We look forward to the start of the season this Saturday.”

J effrey Pollack, President and COO of the XFL said: “We want what our fans want, and millions of football fans have made fantasy and legal wagering an essential part of their football experience. DraftKings is a leader in this space and shares our commitment to giving fans more ways to connect to the game we all love. This partnership is another great way to broaden our reach and introduce our new league.”

A bit about the XFL

The XFL is a new start-up football league which was founded by Vince McMahon, CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and kicks off on February 8. XFL games will be broadcast on ABC, Fox, Fox Sports 1 and ESPN.

Aside from DraftKings, it is not yet clear which other sportsbook operators will be taking action on the league’s games or how many betting opportunities there will be in an XFL season.

Last month, the startup football league announced it has signed an integrity monitoring deal with the data and technology provider, Genius Sports.
