DraftKings launches standalone mobile casino app in NJ

DraftKings has launched its first mobile casino app.

The fantasy sports provider turned multi-vertical gambling operator, DraftKings, has announced the launch of a standalone mobile casino app in the state of New Jersey.

While DraftKings already launched online and mobile casino gambling in 2018, these games could only be accessed via the operator’s sports betting app.

The DraftKings casino app

According to the announcement, the app will feature new casino games that are exclusive to DraftKings as well as classic games such as Roulette and Blackjack.

The app also features popular slot titles and games from third-party suppliers such as International Game Technology, Scientific Games and Slingo.

The operator also noted that a recent study led by DraftKings found that 70% of new DraftKings Casino players place their first bets on DraftKings-branded games. This highlighted the demand for a “modernized customer experience” where games are built-to-scale and the customer interface can be customized.

DraftKings said that the new app is the product of research and preparation to help address the needs and wants of the customers.

Jason March, DraftKings’ Vice President of Gaming said: “We are thrilled to break new ground for DraftKings in the gaming space today with the launch of our DraftKings Casino app, the Company’s first perennial product that operates year-round irrespective of the annual sports schedules.

“Following our debut in the Garden State, we look forward to continued innovation, nationwide expansion where regulations allow, and to further positioning DraftKings as an all-inclusive gaming and entertainment experience.”

DraftKings also said it is prepared to launch its casino app in other states when regulations allow for it.

DraftKings in the US

The news of the DraftKings casino app comes after the operator announced plans to launch a public offering of new shares in the US with the intention of raising $567m. In addition to this, the operator secured access to Michigan’s sports betting market via a deal with Bay Mills Casino.

Regarding DraftKings’ online casino offering, the operator completed the launch of its online casino platform in the state of Pennsylvania in May.

The operator currently has a presence in several states and offers its online sports betting product in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana, New Hampshire, Iowa, and Colorado. DraftKings also operates land-based sportsbooks in New York and Mississippi.
