Pearl River Resort in Mississippi to launch state’s first mobile sports betting app

The Pearl River Resort, the only tribal casino property in Mississippi, will launch Mississippi’s first mobile sports betting app.

Due to the state’s gambling regulations, punters will only be able to use the mobile app to place wagers if they are located on casino property.

Although Mississippi residents won’t be able to place bets from anywhere in the state, the app will allow casino patrons to place bets from anywhere within the resort.

Chris Hopwood, Pearl River Resort’s Sportsbook Director told WTOK: “It’s very busy in here on a college football Saturday and Sunday, before the games kick off and the mobile app will allow guests to not have to wait in line if they want to come inside for that and the other option is the in-play betting.

“They will be able to sit there at the counter or their table or any hotel room, wherever they want to go, and make bets.”

Details about the Pearl River Resort app are scarce, in fact, there is no name or launch date for the app yet.

However, the app will be available on both iOS and Android devices and will allow casino patrons to place in-play bets.

Hopwood went on to say: “We’re also hoping with the in-play, we’ll have prop bets on the game. So, the guests will be allowed to vote on their favorite props that we have throughout games.

“The first person to score a touchdown, next play first down, if it’ll be a pass or rush. There are just many different options for the props to go with the mobile app that gives the guests another experience to bet with the sports betting.”

With the announcement of the Pearl River Resort app, the tribal venue appears to be the first Mississippi sports betting facility with plans to enter the online sports betting market.

The Pearl River Resort houses three different casino venues, the Golden Moon Casino, the Silver Star Casino and the Bok Homa Casino. All of these operate separately and according to WTOK’s report, officials say to look for the app at all three locations.
