PointsBet inks gaming partnership with Denver Nuggets

PointsBet has become an exclusive gaming partner of the Denver Nuggets.

The Australian sportsbook operator, PointsBet, has inked a multi-year partnership with Koenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE), owner of the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche, the NBA’s Denver Nuggets, MLS’s Colorado Rapids, and the National Lacrosse League’s Colorado Mammoth.

What’s covered in the deal?

Under the deal, PointsBet will become the official exclusive gaming partner of the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Mammoth and the Pepsi Center, which is the teams’ home arena.

The exclusive partnership covers the entire gaming space, including online and land-based sports betting, daily fantasy contests, online casino gambling and free to play games.

The sportsbook operator has also been named as an official sports betting partner of KSE’s sports media outlets, Altitude TV and Altitude Sports Radio.

KSE is set to reveal the location of PointsBet-branded areas in the Pepsi Center, including the PointsBet Sports Bar and PointsBet Premium Club. PointsBet will also become the title sponsor of KSE’s upcoming mobile app.

Matt Hutchings, KSE’s EVP and chief operating officer, said: “We know that Nuggets, Avs, and Mammoth fans will be excited to have the opportunity to engage more deeply with their favorite teams via PointsBet.”

Johnny Aitken, chief executive of PointsBet USA, said: “It was instant from day one there were shared values between the Kroenke Sports & Entertainment team and PointsBet, with a clear focus for putting our fans and customers first.

“We’ve long stated that our goal is to become synonymous with Colorado sports betting, and this exclusive partnership with our hometown teams in the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche and Colorado Mammoth, plus premium entertainment spaces within their playing arena, is a momentous step in that process.

“We have defined ourselves via our proprietary, in-house technology on delivering the fastest and easiest sports betting experience in the USA, and Denver sports fans in arena or at home watching games on the Altitude Sports Network will be provided many ways to elevate their viewing experience engaging with our market-leading PointsBet Sportsbook app.”

PointsBet in the US

PointsBet’s partnership with KSE marks the operator’s latest deal with major league sports teams.

Last month, the operator announced an exclusive partnership with MLB’s Detroit Tigers. This deal marked the first deal between a sportsbook and an MLB team and the first-ever partnership between a Michigan-based sports team and an operator.

PointsBet also received a temporary operating permit for sports betting in the state of Illinois in July.

With a temporary operating permit, PointsBet will be able to launch its land-based sportsbook and online betting platform in Illinois once its partner, the Hawthorne Racecourse in the Chicago suburbs, receives its master license.
