Mohegan Sun Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas has selected Betfred to operate the venue’s sportsbook
Betfred is set to enter the Las Vegas gambling market after being named as the sportsbook partner of the new Mohegan Sun Casino property.
What’s covered in the deal?
Under the deal, a Betfred-branded land-based sportsbook will be opened inside the new 60,000-square foot Mohegan Sun Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas when it opens later this year. There are also plans to offer an online Betfred sports betting product in the state.
The Betfred sportsbook inside the casino will feature a state-of-the-art video wall, luxury seating areas, self-service betting kiosks and over-the-counter sports betting.
Mohegan Sun Casino’s eight-month renovation project is currently underway and the casino is expected to open in autumn 2020.

Betfred in the US
The deal with Mohegan Sun marks Betfred USA Sports’ first deal for sports betting in Nevada. Nevada is the fourth US state Betfred has entered and on top of this the operator has set up an office in the state.
The UK-based sportsbook operator initially secured its entry into the US sports betting market in 2019 when it partnered with Elite Casino Resort-owned Grand Falls Casino Resort in Iowa.
After securing entry into Iowa, the operator inked sports betting deals with the Wind Creek Casino & Resort Bethlehem in Pennsylvania and Saratoga Casino in Black Hawk, Colorado.
In addition to this, last month the operator partnered with the NFL’s Denver Broncos, becoming an official partner of the team. This deal also includes provisions for a sports betting lounge outside of Empower Field at the southern end of the Mile High Stadium in time for the 2020 season. At the lounge, fans will be able to receive assistance with placing bets via the Betfred sportsbook app.
