The 2023 NFL season kicked off Thursday night with the Lions’ upset win over the Chiefs at Arrowhead. The NFL offers some of the best parity in the world on a season-to-season basis, and whilst some of the usual suspects will be contending in the playoffs, teams can often completely turn their fortunes around through one draft class and free agency period.

With a focus on this Sunday’s Redzone games in the 6 pm and 9 pm game windows, we’ve scoured the different markets and prop bets for each game for our best bets, accumulator, and bet builder tips as the road to Super Bowl LVIII begins.

Christian McCaffrey Over 95.5 Rushing and Receiving Yards

McCaffrey was electric in Kyle Shanahan’s offence after the 49ers traded for him midseason. The Niners are going all in for 2023, and McCaffrey is going to be a pick part of that. His talent is undoubted, the only questions remain about his health. If McCaffrey stays healthy, expect the 49ers to be in contention for the NFC come the end of the season. The Steelers’ defensive front has performed at a high level for decades, but McCaffrey is accomplished enough as a runner and pass catcher out of the backfield to keep the Steelers’ defence honest.

Justin Jefferson Over 88.5 Receiving Yards

The reigning Offensive Player of the Year amassed 128 catches, 1809 yards, and eight touchdowns during the 2022 season. Jefferson has averaged 98.5 yards a game in his illustrious career, making him the most reliable receiver in the game. There is talent in this Bucs secondary, but few can shut down Jefferson.

Travis Etienne Over 72.5 Rushing and Receiving Yards

Etienne rushed for over 1,100 yards on 4.7 yards a carry and averaged 69 total yards a game in 2022. The Jaguars offence led by Trevor Lawrence has attracted a lot of admirers in the off-season, and are dark horses to win the AFC. Calvin Ridley returns from suspension to join Christian Kirk in a talented receiver corps, and Even Engram is one of the best pass-catching tight ends in the game. Defences will struggle to not over-commit to either the passing or run games, and the Jags will look to utilise Eienne more as a passing threat out of the backfield this season.

Lamar Jackson 1+ Rushing Touchdowns

Lamar Jackson put to rest any speculation over his future by agreeing a mammoth contract extension with the Ravens during the offseason. Jackson is still one of the most dynamic players in the game and will have the Ravens in playoff contention if he can stay healthy. They go against a Texans team with a lot of young talent, but this season will still be a learning year for rookie Head Coach DeMeco Ryans, and first-round draft picks CJ Stroud and Will Anderson. Jackson has 24 rushing touchdowns since entering the league, and despite multiple seasons with injuries limiting play time, averages 887 rushing yards a season. Expect him to add to his total on Sunday.

Geno Smith Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns

Geno Smith and the dynamic Seahawks offence was the surprise of the year in 2022, which was reflected in him being named Comeback Player of the Year. Geno’s had his first full offseason as the undisputed starter, and the Seahawks got him even more help in the NFL Draft with the selection of Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the first round. The Seahawks add Smith-Njigba to Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf, who were already one of the best receiving duos in the league. Promising young tackles Abraham Lucas and Charles Cross impressed in their rookie years and look to kick on in year two, whilst some feel Kenneth Walker was snubbed for Offensive Rookie of the Year. This Seahawks offence features lots of exciting pieces, and Geno is set to make the most of them.
