2024 NFL Draft Betting: Xavier Worthy To Bills Picks Up Steam After Stefon Diggs Trade

The Bills stunned the NFL world by trading Stefon Diggs to the Texans on Wednesday.

Gabriel Davis also left in free agency, which means Buffalo will almost certainly replenish its wide receiver group in the draft.

Who could be their most likely target? The sportsbooks have a clear prospect in mind.

Texas wideout Xavier Worthy has seen his odds to be drafted by the Bills surge in the wake of the deal. He had +550 odds to get drafted by Buffalo earlier this week at DraftKings, and now they sit at +200 odds.

Top Candidates To Draft Xavier Worthy

  • Bills +200
  • Chiefs +500
  • Dolphins +750
  • Panthers +1000
  • Cowboys +1200
  • Cardinals +1200
  • Ravens +1300
  • 49ers +1400
  • Texans +1400
  • Patriots +1500

Worthy set an NFL record by running the 40-yard dash in 4.21 seconds at the Scouting Combine. He is coming off a year at Texas in which he caught 75 passes for 1,104 yards and five touchdowns.

Worthy is projected to go late in the first round or early in the second, and his elite speed would seem like a natural fit in Buffalo because quarterback Josh Allen has arguably the strongest arm in the NFL.

While Worthy would certainly fill a need for the Bills, there is no guarantee he will be available at No. 28 when they are on the clock. The Dolphins have the third-best odds to draft him and choose at No. 21. The Cowboys and Cardinals (+1200 odds apiece) also pick before the Bills in the first round.

And even if Worthy is available at 28, Buffalo could look at other receivers projected near that pick, like Adonai Mitchell, Ladd McConkey and possibly Brian Thomas if he drops.

Whichever player it ends up being, DraftKings seems quite confident that Buffalo will go wide receiver with its first pick, as that is the heavy favorite after the Diggs trade.

Odds to be First Position Selected by the Bills

  • Wide receiver -300
  • Defensive line/edge +350
  • Offensive line +500
  • Cornerback +650
  • Safety +1400
  • Linebacker +3500
  • Tight end +10000
  • Running back +10000
  • Quarterback +20000
  • Kicker/Punter/Long Snapper +20000

The trade of Diggs has made it more evident than ever that the Bills need to add a wide receiver in the draft.

Many expect it to happen with their first pick, and it would not be a surprise if Xavier Worthy is the selection.
