The joint venture between MGM Resorts and Entain has entered a partnership with the Detroit Tigers.
The US sports betting brand BetMGM has announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Major League Baseball’s (MLB) Detroit Tigers.
Last year, the MLB team inked an agreement with the sportsbook operator PointsBet which focuses on sports betting.
The partnership with the Tigers
The multi-year partnership with the MLB team marks BetMGM’s latest effort to expand its presence in the US and comes after the operator launched its sports betting in Michigan earlier this year.
Under the partnership, BetMGM branding will appear on scoreboards at the Tigers; Comerica Park stadium. Branding will also be integrated across both organizations’ social media.
BetMGM will also become an official gaming partner of the MLB outfit.
The Tigers’ Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships, Peter Kent, said: “We’re excited to expand our relationship with BetMGM to feature the Detroit Tigers and Comerica Park. Our fans will enjoy the enhancements this partnership provides to their experience, both at the ballpark and in rooting on the Tigers from home.”
BetMGM’s Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost said: “From day one, it’s been a priority for us to develop deep relationships with Michigan’s beloved sports teams. We look forward to our partnership with the Detroit Tigers and engaging with their fan base to offer best-in-class promotions and benefits only available on BetMGM.”
David Tsai, President of MGM Resorts’ Midwest Group, said: “The Detroit Tigers are a central part of the Michigan sports scene and bring an undeniable energy to the city. MGM Grand Detroit is ready to welcome Tigers and sports betting fans to our BetMGM Sports Lounge before, during, and after games for an innovative and exciting experience.”
This comes after the sportsbook operator teamed up with audio platform Audacy earlier this week.
BetMGM and Audacy
Earlier this week, the operator was named as the preferred sports betting partner of Audacy, the company formerly known as Entercom.
Under the deal, BetMGM content will be integrated into Audacy’s audio network which includes podcasts and radio shows.
Speaking on the deal, Prevost said: “Audacy is a leader in sports radio, digital audio and now the direct-to-consumer betting analytics space.
“In Audacy, we’ve found a long-term strategic partner that shares our goals, enabling us to further amplify BetMGM’s reach to sports fans through the most trusted audio personalities and sports betting data and analytics platform in their respective markets today.”
