Casumo has completed its acquisition of CasinoSecret marking the operators’ first acquisition.
The online casino and sportsbook operator Casumo has completed its acquisition of CasinoSecret, marking the company’s first-ever acquisition.
The Malta-based CasinoSecret was founded in 2018 and holds a license from the Malta Gaming Authority and has a growing online gambling portfolio with a focus on customer experience.
The deal
The online gambling operator acquired CasinoSecret for an undisclosed sum and said the acquisition of CasinoSecret would bring in more product and marketing experience to help grow its existing brands and help build upon player retention.
In late 2019, Casumo acquired a 40% stake in the business. Among CasinoSecret’s unique selling points is a cashback feature that rewards players for continued play as well as no play-through wagering conditions attached to the offers.
Casumo chief executive Shelly Suter-Hadad said: “We have developed an ambitious and exciting collaboration with the team at CasinoSecret, which made the merger a clear next step from all perspectives. The acquisition will enable us to further leverage the strong synergies and shared direction of both businesses while taking our group portfolio to the next level.”
CasinoSecret chief executive Nadir Ounissi said: “Our ongoing drive to deliver the best online casino experience through innovation and high local relevance fits Casumo’s mission well.
“Together we now open new doors to shared expertise and exciting opportunities across the brands.”
What else has Casumo been up to?
Casumo was founded in 2012 and has seen massive growth in a short amount of time. In 2018, the operator shifted from online casino to sports betting. The completion of the acquisition comes after Casumo began the process of diversifying its offering by launching a Kambi-powered sportsbook platform in the UK.
This came after the operator secured a sponsorship deal with the English Football League Championship club Reading FC. This built upon an existing deal between the Dunder online casino brand and Bristol City.
