Paysafe’s Skrill has further-expanded its football portfolio via a partnership with Premier League side Leeds United.
The digital wallet service, which caters for online gambling alongside other verticals, will enjoy branding at Elland Road plus other features.
The Whites already feature a betting sponsor on the front of their jerseys this season, in the form of SBOTOP.
Boosting payment portfolio
Leeds, who have enjoyed a solid first season back in the top-flight so far, will work with Skrill to develop exclusive content for the club’s website and social channels. Fans will also be able to enjoy what they create on the Leeds United mobile app.
Skrill will also become an official payment option for the Yorkshire-based side’s online club shop.
Commenting on the partnership, Leeds United Chairman Andrea Radrizzani said: “We are delighted that Skrill is joining us as a partner. Both Skrill and Leeds United are dynamic forces in our respective industries, challenging the status quo and going through a particularly exciting time in our journey.
“Both of our brands have a strong and loyal fan base in the UK and internationally, and we look forward to rewarding our fans through this partnership.”
“A winning formula all round”
Skrill allows users around the world to make online payments at various betting websites. Using the service, players can also withdraw their winnings back into the digital wallet solution.
Leeds United is the latest football club to partner with Skrill; the Paysafe-owned, London-headquartered service also signed a partnership with Italian giants AC Milan last May.
Discussing the new Leeds deal, Lorenzo Pellegrino – CEO of Skrill, NETELLER and Income Access at Paysafe, said: “With the eagerly anticipated return of fan presence at football stadiums and the incredible season which Leeds United is having, I can’t think of a more exciting time for Skrill to be entering into this partnership. We already know from our football partnerships that fans enjoy the benefits of Skrill and that our service is very relevant to them.
“We will be making the most of this new relationship to add value to the Club’s payment ecosystem and our own valued customer and partner base to make it a winning formula all round.”
Besides its partnerships with Leeds United and AC Milan, Skrill has also in the past sponsored the National League – formerly known as the Conference.
