A new land-based sportsbook is now available in Indiana.
Yesterday, Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) announced the launch of a land-based BetAmerica sportsbook at the Rising Star Casino Resort in Rising Sun, Indiana.
With the launch of the BetAmerica branded sportsbook, there will now be 14 land-based sportsbooks available to Indiana bettors.
A look at the sportsbook
The new sportsbook will be 3,000 square feet in size and broadcast sports games on more than 30 TV screens. Bettors can place wagers at 16 automated betting kiosks or at a betting window with sportsbook staff.
BetAmerica also plans to launch state-wide online sports wagering once they receive approval from the Indiana Gaming Commission.

BetAmerica in Colorado
The CDI press statement also details a separate agreement with Full House Resorts for sports betting in Colorado.
Under this deal, CDI will launch a BetAmerica sportsbook at the Bronco Billy’s Casino and Hotel in Cripple Creek, Colorado. The sportsbook also plans to launch online sports betting once it receives regulatory approval.
Last week, Colorado voters approved Proposition DD legalizing sports wagering in the Centennial State. Colorado’s state regulators are now working to launch sports betting operations.
Sports betting in Indiana
Indiana became the tenth state to legalize sports betting following the repeal of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) in 2018.
Governor Eric Holcomb signed HB 1015 into law in May, legalizing land-based and state-wide mobile sports betting. Bettors can sign up for online sportsbook accounts remotely, from anywhere within the state.
On 1 September, Indiana’s sports betting market went live with the Ameristar Casino Hotel East Chicago, the Hollywood Casino & Hotel Lawrenceburg and Indiana Grand Racing & Casino launching land-based sportsbooks.
At the time of writing, 14 land-based sportsbooks and three online operators offer sports betting in the Hoosier State.
Bettors in the Hoosier State can place bets online with DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook and Bet Rivers.
